So my interview is on Tuesday...anything out of the ordinary that I should expect there? Anything I should keep in mind about DCOM that maybe important to my knowledge before I go into the interview?

Be sure you know what Osteopathic Medicine is, how it differs from Allopathic Medicine, and why you would want to be a D.O. Just Google it and learn about it. There really isn't a right answer, per se, but they want you to be able to verbalize what it is and why we think it is an advantage.

Other than that, you've got to be yourself. It does you and them no good to be somebody you aren't. If you get in because you just want to get in and not because you like the school/ the area / etc., you'll be miserable.

Most of all, as much as you can (and you can, believe me)... ENJOY IT!!!!! Have fun in your interviews. What could be better than having the opportunity to interview... to go to medical school! You'll work hard in school... more than you ever thoiught you could. But you'll also have a lot of fun, learn a lot, and be read to go out and do something bigger than yourself. Haha, seriously! 😛 I feel bad for whoever interviews next Monday.... the hotel has been booked for months for white coat ceremony guests. Hopefully it will clear out before Sunday night though.

Ok, so I double-checked, and looked to see what time I'm supposed to be there when I actually signed up for pizza night, and that is 6:30, so I would get there before the interviewees showed up. SO, for all you interviewees out there, it starts at 7 pm. But Hippiechick, I am so down to go early.. me and the roommie have got nothing going on after she's done with her practical at 5:20 sooo if you see her talk to her about it.. or you can stop by our apt beforehand too for a little celebration 😀

I just received an interview for november 4th! From what I have read this school seems very nice, and it has a coffee shop that my wife will love, lol. I see you are interviewing tomorrow koojo. Good luck and let me know what you think.

I'm doing the same thing! I read a post from last year where he called around 5 eastern time. who knows though. i suppose it won't be today.

Yeah, I'd guess they'd have to send the letters out tomorrow or wednesday if they expect the letters to make it to most of the interviewers by the end of the week. So you'd think that they would be ready to start calling people tomorrow or the next day.😕

I mailed my secondary on a Tuesday and recieved an interview invite the following Tueday.

I was complete last tuesday and I received my interview yesterday. I had to reschedule though, and my interview is now november 10.

No, nothing. Janette said we would know by mail at the end of this week and that's what I'm sticking to. If it comes earlier it'll be a nice surprise. If it comes at the beginning of next week or something then it'll have only been 2 weeks.

Didn't most of the other people who got accepted at DCOM on here find out in 2 weeks, even if they were called by phone?

At the interview yesterday, Janette said the committee meets every Thursday to discuss that weeks interviewee's. After that, it takes about 2 weeks to receive their decision in your mailbox. If you haven't heard anything by 2 weeks you can call Janette and have her send you the letter again. She can't tell you whether you've been accepted over the phone.
