I'm from the UK and looking to potentially take a residency in the US. I've seen on quite a few residency sites that many programmes won't take you if you have been more than a few years out of medical school. I will hopefully be doing a Phd with my medicine degree in the UK and thought about doing some Postdoc work in the USA before residency. Would this hinder my application, and will programmes that state that you have to be fresh out of med school flex on this at all?
