Trying to decide whether to rank Long or UTMB higher. I have a prematch at UTMB, and both have different things that appeal to me. I definitely prefer San Antonio as a city and had an overall great experience at Long, but I have heard that the frequency of quizzes makes the curriculum more stressful than other schools. UTMB has a P/F and NBME exams, but I think SA would have a better clinical experience than Galveston. Would appreciate some other perspectives!

Living in San Antonio is awesome, and certainly cheaper than Galveston. UTMB seemed very relaxed to me and I didn't interview at Long, but, being very familiar with both cities I would pick SA over Galveston 10 out 10 times. I think you will have amazing rotations at either site. The real issue here is going to be driving because lots of clinical rotations will be in Houston if you are at UTMB. I personally hate sitting in traffic but some people just chill and listen to the radio, so it may not matter for you. The good news is that you can't go wrong with either school.

I interviewed at both schools and honestly...I just feel like Long is on the next level (over UTMB). Their facilities were stellar, clinical rotations are better/more centralized, amazing scheduling around Step, and SA is definitely better for living the Galveston.

I think the students are UTMB were just a little too laid back for me haha
