Hi guys,

I'm an IMG planning to enter the mat h this year. I have just requested my LoRs and was wondering when is the very latest that these letters should be uploaded by the attendings onto the LoR portal. I thought I had until the 15th of Sept but I just read that it takes two weeks for the letters to be processed!

When do competitive specialties start reading these letters? Do they wait til the receive the MSPE, ie beginning of October?

Look forward to hearing from you because this two week thing has really taken me by surprise and I'm rather concerned.

What you heard about ECFMG delay in uploading LORs is correct. Nobody will be able to accurately predict when interview offers will start going out. Some places will send them on or shortly after 9/15 while others will wait until after the MSPE.

But what can you do about it now? Are you not going to apply this year because of that?
