Hi everyone!

I just got back from a meeting with one of my science prof (from class I'm currently in)

I initially asked about some of materials that we have gone through in the class. And after

that.. the professor asked me about my plan in the future.. so i basically told me about

how i was planning to apply to DO schools .. and from that on we kinda talked about

the school in general and he told me about his past graduate student getting into med

schools.. and etc.

So end of it.. I asked about if he could write me a LOR. and he said he would be happy

to.. But feels he doesn't know me that well yet except that I have been attending all the

lectures and about my grades in class.... (A)

I now plan to go into his office more often and ask more questions .. so he can get to me

better (plus i will be giving my resume as well as personal statement)

What do you guys think? Would this be ok? I plan to apply this coming summer

Definitely sounds like a plan. Make sure when the time comes that you ask something like "do you know me well enough to write a good LOR"?

Definitely prepare a "lor packet" for the professor as well. Mine included: resume, personal statement, a brief statement about how professor XX's class helped develop my interest in medicine, and (last one is up to you) a rough general outline of how you'd like him/her to approach the LOR/ or some key points you'd like the letter to cover. Again that last one can be a tad touchy, but you could preface by saying something along the lines of, "I know your time is valuable I drafted an outline for your convenience. Etc etc."

Anyways gl!
