LOR Picture

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So it's been a few months since I've been on a few of these rotations where I'm trying to get a LOR from my attendings. Is it wise to include a picture along with the ERAS waiver, CV and whatnot so they remember you better?

If you feel the need to send a picture, you may want to rethink whether or not this is the best person to be writing your letter. Ideally you want to pick attendings that know you well. Otherwise, the letter will come out very generic and won't add a whole lot. But, if you really need a letter from an attending who may only recognize you by your picture, I say go for it.

Meh...I don't know about this. Attendings (particularly in IM) at large places see hundreds of med students each year and some may get asked for dozens of LORs. It may be a couple of months between the rotation and the writing of the LOR (the asking should be done while on the rotation of course but it may need re-requested closer to Sept. 1). A little memory boost in the form of a photo along with the CV is probably not necessary but not a horrible idea either.

Very true for IM. But, I still believe it is good to get a letter from an attending who remembers you and can talk about you specifically. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I have a professional picture in the top right of my CV. You should be handing them your CV, and it's a good way to get your photo across.
