does anyone know if loyola has rejected pre-interview yet???? i have not been offered an interview yet (nor do i expect one) however, i called this week and was told that i am going to be reviewed AGAIN during this month...

does anyone know if they are just keeping my file until may...or do they ACTUALLY see some potential in my file??? to be honest, i would be shocked if they offered me an interview...not to mention i was not complete until december...

i just dont know what to expect...

I've called a few times and been told that my application has not been reviewed yet, so it seems that they're still going thru apps. This would suggest that the possibility of getting an interview still exists, but I'm not too optimistic.

we will be doing interviews through the end of april, so if you're still under review, there's still a chance. i don't know any more details than that, other than I am a tour guide and they have told us we will be giving tours through the end of april, so obviously there are lots more interviews going to happen.

Anyone know how far in advance the interviews are scheduled?

I'm in the same boat as well. They said my application is being held for further review and that they still invite for interviews till the end of March. I asked if it was a smaller applicant pool (i.e. have they been actively rejecting people to narrow it down to a smaller group of possible candidates?) and they said yes.

Loyola is still offering interviews. I received an invite recently (within the last few weeks) and interview was only a week afterward! So they happen fast - I was given a choice between a week and nine days... Also, they asked where I was coming from, which seems to factor in how fast they want you to get there. I'm within a drivable distance so my interview was soon after the invite. Don't lose hope yet - I was complete the second week of January.

I was complete in mid-sept. and still haven't heard anything since, when I called they said they reviewed my file and will review it again but that was back in november I think (I'm in Loyola undergrad though so my chances of getting in were slim to begin with)

Thats weird.. I thought schools liked students who went there undergrad (at least thats what it seems like at the school I go to now). Maybe its different for public and private schools or something.

I had a Dec 8th 2ndary date and interviewed in Early March so the process is still going but I don't know if its still full speed ahead or slowed down some. They are certainly very meticulous in their preparation and interviews though.

I got the impression that Stritch looks favorably on Loyola Undergrads even without the Early Assurance Program.
I don't think you formed the right impression. For 05 for example only 8 out of 140 matriculating students were from Loyola undergrad, there were more matriculants from Boston College, NotreDame, U of I champaign, 8 from U of Wisconsin(Madison) http://www.meddean.luc.edu/admissions/college.htm
I think numbers were pretty much the same for 06, even granting that some Loyolans who were offered an acceptance declined (most pre-meds I know though would love to stay at loyola for med.school) 8 is still a small number to be talking about them being favorable, considering the total large number of medschool applicants that Loyola produces each year. If they accepted too many of their own, how do you think they would then advertise on a national level?

This is interesting...I actually had no idea that I still had a chance and was pretty much assuming rejection. Hmm. Maybe I should call and see where they are with my file..

Does anyone know how Loyola notifies its applicants of an interview opp? Do they call or do they email? Also, if anyone knows how USC, Jefferson, and Rush notify you I would appreciate that info as well? Thanks yall

I've heard that they call to invite you...but I haven't gotten any calls yet

By "thorough" I menat that the admin office is small and for instance they recognized my voice from the phone when I interviewed. The whole place is very helpful and rather than rushed 20-30 min interviews each one is about an hour or more. Your interviewers have your files but not grades scores etc. They just assume that if your sitting there then those were adequate. I honestly enjoyed both my interviews, enjoyed not just because I thought they went well but because the format lends itself to low-stress interviews.

Notification: Loyola calls and e-mails then after confirmation snail-mail a packet.
