MA Apprenticeship Program - Clinical Hours?

I'm looking to get paid clinical work experience and have been having trouble getting a scribe or MA job where I live. There's a hospital that has an MA apprenticeship program that is a "earn as you learn" style program where you gain 2000 hours of on the job training while working FT at their health clinic over a year and then you're eligible to sit for the certification exam. I'm planning on applying to med school in May 2026 and was wondering if I would be able to use those hours towards my clinical hours.

If you are working for a paycheck, I'd call it employment. If the work involves being in physical proximity to patients, I'd call it clinical.
