March MCAT for SMP in September?

I plan on applying to an SMP now (this cycle) but is taking the MCAT in March too late? The schools won't get the scores until about April.

It depends on your stats and what you get on your MCAT. I would say it would be ok if you do well on your MCAT. By April comes around, people who have not gotten into medical school with border line stats will be looking to apply to SMP's and it will be harder for you to get a spot in SMP.

If you end up getting sub 30 on your MCAT it might be hard to get in around April.

Some programs like VCU accept anybody though..and that program doesn't sound like that bad of an option if you can perform really well. But like AntonFreeman said, other programs may be difficult to get into without a 31+ MCAT...assume the top programs with linkage will be almost impossible to get into
