Master the Boards vs. First Aid vs Crush

Which book is better for Step 3 preparation?? Master the Boards vs. First Aid vs Step 3 Crush. I am hearing good things about Master the Boards....but I used First Aid for Steps 1 and 2. So I am wondering if I should use Master the Boards for Step 3?

Any help would be appreciated!

Bought FA, but didn't like the format as much as Master the Boards. Ended up using that, reading it twice.

I'm just started checking out Master the Boards... I'm really liking it in comparison to other review book formats. There are some great tables too that in other books I always remember thinking, "I wish they would put all this into a table for easier review"... and for some of these things this book actually has them. Very useful and it being in-color is also nice on the eyes. I wonder how complete it is though, in comparison to the tried and tested FA books, etc.?

I hope so. I used Step 2 Secrets instead of FA for Step 2 so I am going to read through that also.

I might skip UW as it has gotten pretty expensive lately. I remember when 3 months used to be less than $100.

My plan: Crush and Master the Boards - study for 3 weeks - DONE

I used Master the Boards and honestly wasn't that happy with it. I did well so it worked I guess but while taking the test it sure didn't feel like it worked. My honest reaction is that I would have done just as well if I only used USMLE World.

I asked a couple of friends who had recently taken it. They used MTB and UW and passed, but they felt pretty strongly that MTB probably wasnt that much help and they would have performed the same with only UW. Their advice to me was to just focus on UW and not really bother with MTB.

Seems like most people use UW +/- one book.

Anyone have thoughts on the new edition of crush step 3?

Also, anyone know when the new edition of FA step 3 will be out?

I have used MTB, fa and crush. I liked MTB hands down.
