Hi all.

I am hoping someone may be able to give me some advice from a similar situation. I am a non trad student looking to go back to med school, studying for MCAT now. I have a bachelors and masters degree. Undergraduate science GPA is >3.0 but I have no graduate science courses. My masters GPA is 3.7 but none were counted in BCPM. I spoke with an admissions representative who told me to take a year of graduate science courses prior to applying. My question is has anyone taken graduate science courses as a non-matriculated student? Does it look bad if I take graduate courses without seeking a degree? Do most four year schools even allow this. Has anyone else had success going this route?!

I've had classmates in my graduate courses that were non-degree seeking students, so it's definitely possible, but I don't know the administrative details of going about doing so.

You are better off taking undergraduate courses. Graduate GPA doesn't affect your uGPA, and adcoms are less used to evaluating it. Your gGPA is already fine, but if you are simply describing parts of you uGPA as ">3.0", I'm assuming that the uGPA needs a bit of a boost.
