Match Results: Congratulations, you have matched!

I thought you couldn't tell if you were matched cat vs. prelim+advanced. It just lets you know if you're fully matched or prelim matched or advanced matched.

Open spots data:

Physical Medicine & Rehab PGY1
W 9 0; C 24 1; S 33 3; NE 16 2; total 82 6

Physical Medicine & Rehab PGY2
W 34 1; C 65 3; S 52 2; NE; 119 8; total 270 14

so a total of 6 PGY1 and 14 PGY 2 spots open for tomorrow...

Congrats OUsooner!

Congrats folks.. me too!

I was sitting around on the "General Residency Issues" sub-forum doing the countdown thing. No email still.. took a minute before I surfed around on the website to figure out. 71 hours and 43 minutes and counting now. Guess I'll go post that rank list now.

sounds like you're an alcoholic...i think you need help OUsooner, in life that is.

Hey, I matched too. One question though: on my NRMP account it said "congratulations, you have matched!" and that´s it. How can I know if I matched both to prelim and PM&R or just one of the two? Do I have to wait until tomorrow and see if I get the list of unfilled programs or not? Thanks for any help, cautiously happy!

This means you are fully matched, assuming you had both prelim and advanced programs on your matchlist.

Congrats to you!

Thanks Casa, very valuable info. That means I´m in, excellent. Congrats to you too! Party on!

Congrats OUsooner!

I can tell because I had a program ranked for my prelim which only ended up taking applicants from the osteopathic match (and if even if they do take applicants from the M.D. match, I had a terrible interview there and there was no love from either party). Also many of my programs I applied to had no intern year matched with them so I know that I did not end up at any of those programs. Simply deductive reasoning. Sorry for this confusing post but I am still stoked that I am matched! :meanie:

Casa's got it all organized... nice!

Congrats to all y'all who matched! Hope you match in your top 3! (or at #4, Casa) 😉

I'm actually surprised that there are only 4 unmatched Midwest spots. Our exit interviews last year showed us that location was our primary negative.

Can't imagine why....it's 70 degrees right now! Of course, we're supposed to get snow tonight...

PS Nothin' wrong with drinking: is it a problem if I need a lil' somethin' somethin' before epidurals to keep my hands from shaking? j/k

I matched. My list is in the rank list thread.

I think there is more awareness in the midwest and more midwestern applicants then on the east or left coast. Met 2 applicants from Wayne State on the trail. Would assume many people want to stay in their own area. All the residents I meet who are from Michigan love it there.

One of my attendings told a patient the other day I'm going to be a physical therapy doctor one day (I've just given up on awareness, correcting people, etc. kinda like trying to pull out weeds). Well, maybe I just might. Hoooray!

The lists do surprise me though, some are random and some look like they are the USN&WR rankings. Funny that.

Though I suppose my IKEA and good food criteria are pretty random. Though I was unsure how to weight community food and cafeteria food of the hospital in my final ratings. One place I went had just the worst food though: -10 points. Here's to not being USN&WR slaves!

Well, hopefully most of us put some thought into our lists whether they seem random or illogical. I'm sure a lot had to evaluate their priorities and "gut feeling". I sure did, but hopefully everyone will get their top choices regardless.

congrats to everyone who matched. good luck to those who are scrambling. So I guess I never read stats on the total number of spots, it seems like there are 350 pm&R spots include pgy1&2?

Anyone have any stats on the number of applicants? I thought I read somewhere that there were 800 applicants or something. Pardon my ignorance if i'm totally incorrect.

Keep in mind some people apply to more than one specialty.

February Residency Data - Applicants by Specialty

USGs: 261 358 403 457 481 425

You obviously didn't meet me on your interview day. Actually do love the Midwest, but would not mind somewhere warm or less spread out.

I dunno. Am going to hit an IKEA for the first time in May (going to hit Chicago for a long weekend), hoping their stuff in-person does more for me than browsing online. I will admit, I'm pretty picky about furniture.

Good luck tomorrow 😀
