I have made public accountability stuff in the past in order to get things done and keep up with what I have to do

Anyway I'm going to graduate 2014 from College. I have taken nearly all of the pre-med requirements. I only became recently interested in medicine and basically crammed 7 pre-med classes into the past 3 semesters I had. That was not fun...needless to say I only did alright in my classes. I'm a social sciences major. I think talent/intelligence wise I might be a bit better than what's normal? Memory wise, I might be a bit worse than what's normal?

I'm going to post daily what I'm doing. Obviously the goal is to get to the 45

Took my first diagnostic, kind of took it spur of the moment on some Saturday morning, it was given by Examkrackers. I had gone out the previous night and it was early. Got something like a 20 on it. From that point forward I knew I had some work cut out for me. Honestly the exam frustrated me and I found myself walking out partway through biology

Overall Goal: Go big or go home. 45!! (15/15/15)

Tests taken so far
05/01/2013 Diagnostic Exam Krackers: 20: 6/9/5
Started Studying: 5/8/2013
6/07/2013 AAMC 3 Composite: 31: 10/11/10
6/17/2013 Princeton Review Hyperlearning Practice test: Composoite: 33 12/12/11

Other AAMC Scores: 37/39/36

Just finished AAMC 11

13/12/11

I ended up spending more time than was allowed on the BS Section
There was one absurd passage. I spent forever looking at the complicated words, wasting a lot of time. I had to go get a piece of paper to write down what was happening. I guess I have to be taking notes because that literally could not be deciphered unless you kept track of everything

Physics was mainly Math errors
Chem was one bad Lewis structure mistake, forgot to sum up how many electrons there were before hand

Haven't reviewed Verbal Yet

I got some random orgo questions wrong that I should review. AA and Carbs which I haven't even looked at really

And again, Freaking Ebola

Not a bad score IMO... You need 2 more points to have the average MCAT of Washington University....38-40 should be your goal now... Lol

I'd be ecstatic if I were to get into my undergrad's medical school. Hopefully they give some type of preference

I have no shot at Wash U unless I get like a 47

How are your GPAs? Your potential mcat score suggest you might have a shot there if your GPAs are good though....

Nothing is for sure until OP takes the real deal and gets his score back. You're talking about WashU, not some state school. ECs will make or break you. 4.0/40s from Podunk can still fail all the time.

DON'T TALK ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THESE EXAMS:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

DON'T TALK ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THESE EXAMS:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

OK, the one question he specifically referenced is EVERYfreakingwhere on SDN. Seriously, it was the first bit of info I ever learned on here.

As for the rest...it would be frankly MORE shocking if he had said there were no Lewis structures.

Finally, people talk about the content of these exams all the time in threads, even asking for explanations. The rule is that it has to be clearly labelled. There were several posts leading up indicating that AAMC 11 was going to be discussed.

Rescheduled my test day, added 13 days

Taking it on august 15th now

Finished Physics, Orgo, Chem Self-assessments

Orgo was unspectacular. I really need to get a better grip on stuff that's not related to Hydrocarbosn

Alot of people are hating on you because you're doing things that most people cannot. There's alot of jealous people in the world. Keep up the hard work and everything will work itself out.

being skeptical of elaborate claims on the internet shouldn't qualify as hating. But being able to efficiently do 437 MCAT problems in one day doesn't seem consistent with someone that has reportedly scored low-mid 30's on most of the practice exams. Most people take a day to do one self assessment, and he claims that he did three in one day, after completing the most difficult AAMC FL no less. I'd believe it only if OP showed a screenshot of e-mcat Your Tests screen, which shows completed assignments and date completed. If this feat was indeed completed in one day, he probably does have a shot at 45.

We're not gonna apologize for being skeptical. If we were to take everything on the Net on its face value...

I think being skeptical is a very important thing given the right time and place. OP has made it clear through his numerous posts throughout the board that he is very dedicated to this test. I think it's pretty ridiculous to think that someone would go through all that trouble just to lie on SDN. That's where you start seeing jealousy and envy taking over rational thought. Furthermore, my message was directed at OP as a motivator since he's clearly working his ass off and is receiving so much garbage on these boards. No one ever asked for an apology as it's obvious most people on SDN are far to proud to ever do so.

We're not hating. It's just extremely egotistical and douchey to put a "diary" (wtf really?) of your crappy studying, crappy music and crappy day on a forum like this. It had nothing to do with the attempt at 45 score but everything to do with the fact that no one cares.

Don't make me puke. No one is here is even close to being jealous or envious of him. Perhaps you are, but don't speak for us as you would for yourself. Thanks.

Bragging is not exactly lying. It's obvious that the OP is an attention ***** who is looking for idk what exactly (praise? encouragement?), and making extravagant claims is a fine way to do that. SDN is a "forum," not a space for your studying "diary." We the readers of this ridiculousness have every right to say what we want. After all, what more would you expect after showing the whole world your wittle, pwivate diary?

If all of us came on here writing up our daily schedules and what we reviewed that day, think about what this thread would become.

In fairness to the OP, posting your steps/results is a good way to establish accountability for your work.

Accountability? To whom? Who asked him to start this godforsaken thread? He is not accountable to anyone, because no one gives a hoot what he is doing. :annoyed: :annoyed: annoyed: That is the whole point of our dissent. No one cares. Please don't encourage him.

I don't mind the idea of a diary. A lot of people might find such a thing useful. I'm just starting to get skeptical about the veracity of the OP's claims in the thread. My BS meter went off when he said he completed AAMC 3 and three SA's in one day. So now I went back to the original post to get a better idea of the situation. He starts off in the OP as someone who "only did alright" in his pre-reqs, and got a 20 on his diagnostic. After a month of studying, he's at a 31 on AAMC 3. So far so good.

But now we're supposed to believe someone that only did alright in his premeds, only scored a 20 diagnostic, and only had a 31 on AAMC 3 after a month of studying, is now capable of completing 437 MCAT problems at a high efficiency in a single day? And I'm pretty sure he will report a score of 45, or close to it. And the funny thing is that the tone of this thread is that he's someone who's stumbling and bumbling his way to a perfect MCAT score.

Got to love the ego. I've been hesitant to do some of the harder orgo stuff I don't know thinking that it's too hard. Seriously that voice whoever you are shut the hell up, I'm going to do this. I want to learn this stuff.

I will do a FL tomorrow morning at the same time as the exam I'm going to take. It's going to be out of a book however...today is more of a content review day for me

What to do:
Orgo TBR reading
EK 101 passages
Review Flashcards
Build flashcards on wrong answers

Current progress on flashcards...still not sure exactly what this means, what I'm looking forward to is moreso to get that unseen thing to 0%

Update:
Slacked off a bit today
Finally finished the Carbohydrates section of TBR
Starting to wonder if all of these reactions are actually necessary because I've yet to really see a question intensive on some Claisen whatever reaction...we'll see
Not sure if I'll spend time committing this stuff to memory
Since you posted screens for this, please post a screen shot of your e-MCAT screen showing completed assignments and corresponding dates.

Accountability to himself. If you say you're going to do something, it motivates you to actually do it. It's psychological, and besides being common sense, it's also been shown in studies.

This is a logical argument.

I'd imagine most SDN users (and most pre-meds in general) would flip **** if they actually did meet a student that could do this.:laugh:

haha you are crazy. no one is making you click on this thread. OP hasn't responded to any of the bashing on these boards so i don't understand how you can assume he is an attention *****. you and the others are the ones who are creating this "attention". he is simply creating a log of his studying which could be VERY useful to future studyers if he does in fact do well on the exam. and apparently having public accountability motivates OP so more power to him.

moral of the story: grow up.

Actually, no. I wouldn't even raise an eyebrow if it were true. Don't be condescending; my Ivy is filled with those who could easily pull this off.

But the OP's reluctance to post evidence of his claims speaks for itself, I believe. He already posted screens before, so why not prove us wrong?

I think you need to relax. Either he's lying, or he's not. Nothing more too it. If you are really aren't jealous or envious of this possible fabrication, why the hell do you care so much? Are you defensive because people are calling you out for calling the OP out as much as you do? And if you are, you probably need to reevaluate your priorities.

To OP, don't know if you full of **** or not, but good luck to you, and good luck to everyone else on this thread. Hope you all get into med school--I really do.

Also, thanks for letting me know what people are like at your Ivy. Doesn't make you sound like more of a douche at all...

Subtle humble brag. I like it 10/10

In any case, I'm skeptical also because iirc, OP claimed he scored a 39 on one of the AAMCs. Hard to believe that someone who did okay in his prereqs and got a 20 diagnostic is doing so well after a few weeks of prep

Don't worry, my tits are calmer than you'd believe. I started caring more than I should when someone said that Platonic and I were filled with "jealousy and envy" of the OP, which was ridiculous and deserved its own response in my book. But thanks for assuming that my priorities are limited to SDN; it's just good entertainment for study breaks. :naughty:

I don't think what I did was any more douchey than for OP to start a self-centered thread about what he's studying, but okay. I wasn't the one who started stating what would make others "flip a ****, so I'd say you need to stop being a douche, too.

To the first bolded line: I never made that assumption. If anything, my post suggests that your priorities are messed up in general.

To the second bolded line: doesn't matter if he's being douchey or not. My point is that YOU are being douchey. I like how you're pointing fingers for making the same negative choices as you, real mature👍.

To the third bolded line: not sure how that makes me a douche. So saying that people that are naturally inclined to do well on the MCAT make other people jealous is a douchey thing to say? Here I thought it was mere observation or speculation at best. But if it really, really grinds your gears, I'll apologize for it anyway: I'm sorry.

If you're gonna play that game, then I don't see how it's douchey that I mentioned where I go to school as an example of my knowing many very capable people and thus wouldn't be surprised if the OP were legit. What, I can't say where I go to school? There are smart kids at every college, but I can only speak for the one I go to. If I went to another school, you bet I would've replaced the word "Ivy" in my original post with "top 20 LAC" or "flagship state school." What difference does it make? It's interesting how defensive many SDNers get when the topic of top schools is brought up. What, are you still bitter over not being accepted or something? (Yeah, I went there.)

But ad hominems are to be ignored anyway as they add no value to anything; I just wanted to bring that up for clarification.

To answer your question, I care for the same reasons Platonic and Person0715 probably care. We feel it necessary to bust the BS out of someone whose thread is generating lots of views online. This doesn't mean it's a priority of ours, though.

If he is telling the truth, then others can learn from his studying habits (maybe). However, if he is lying through his teeth and exaggerating, that'll send the wrong message to readers (especially the noobier SDN users, who have trouble weaving through bull****) that this type of studying (e.g., reading the answer key to TBR instead of doing the passages 🙄) actually works. Neurotic premeds may be compelled/inspired to also try doing AAMC 11 and 3 SAs in one day in hope of good results. That's not okay.

Now, why do you care so much? Sure, bash the rest of us for being defensive, but quoting line by line and refuting said quotes can hardly be seen as anything but.

Edit: On second thought, there's one thing you did get right, and credit is always to be awarded. I've run out of ****s to give, and thus I will take your advice to relax. (Damn those Ivy Leaguers, those kids learn so quickly nowadays, right?)

I'll be around for OP to post his claim of scoring >40 (wouldn't expect a screenshot of THx at this point).

Fine, lets just leave it. No use in fighting over and over.

By the way, to answer your ad hominem, I only applied to one school and I'm glad. I don't go to an Ivy because I didn't really care much for it. I would love to go to an Ivy med school, though.😳

Hence why I haven't revealed my school

I find it funny that you guys are talking about random stuff

Anyway this whole notes compression thing is taking a bit longer than I expected

I'll probably only get Physics Done today

I'll start up Chem maybe

OP seriously has the worst taste in music.

One Direction? Seriously? Are you like 12?

Here's some real manly music made by people with real talent:

I don't think he seems bitter at all. He's probably just happy that he didn't pay 250,000 for an education that will have no impact on his future career. (yeah, I went there.)

I pay 2k a year, and that's because the mandatory health insurance costs $1000. (I'm uninsured otherwise.) Two years ago when I enrolled, I paid $1,600 on my initial bill. I'll probably pay less for all four glorious years than what you did for one year of undergrad, even at a state school (unless you were a full rider as well). Your ass was so eager to make a jab at Ivies that you forgot they're filthy rich and about a little concept called financial aid. It's time to drag that behind back to reality.
