I thought IMG should pass USMLE's + CSA, and u r done!!!

Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam

It is necessary for IMGs to write this exam before they can apply for a residency in Canada.

I have hear a lot of opinions that if you are not a Canadian resident or citizen it is extremely hard to get into Canada. Your chances are better in US!! I new a lot of guys who spent their time in canada trying to get into it and eventually ended up in USA.

There just aren't enough residency spots in Canada for IMGs...
Canada is too small of a country and our population cannot possibly fund that many doctors compared to the US.

Also, as an IMG, you get placed in the 2nd round of matching for a residency.

I don't know how it works too well with the US yet (because I haven't looked into it) but with Canada, it's basically centralized.

Some provinces have their own programs set in place to attract or control the amount of IMGs they get as well which has a system seperate to the national one.
