bubbleyum said:nothing.
i guess in some way, it's better to still have a ray of hope rather than be depressed about a rejection letter...
who am i kidding. I WANT TO KNOW NOOOOOWWWWW!!!!
ugagrad04 said:I have a friend who got a rejection letter earlier this week, but I am still clueless as to my fate. I just spoke with the admissions office and they said we may not hear until the 3rd week of April. I am tired of spending my days stalking the mailman.
bubbleyum said:when did your friend interview? when did you interview? (was your response from the admissions office about 3rd week of april based on a late interview? or does that apply to everybody??)[/QUOTE
3rd week of April huh? The saga continues.
Anyone else heard of any more rejections, etc?

dogtired said:I am beginning to think the admissions office has no idea when letters will go out, or which letters are left to send. It is Master's week in Augusta, so maybe they are taking a break from mailings!!
If MCG is done with interviews, why is it taking so long to send out letters? What is the reason for sending a response so late in the game? Even for undergraduate colleges they manage to send out thousands of letters and emails by April 1; can't MCG do the same? I wish we could get an answer to our questions and know that the person responding knows what they are talking about!!
Who is brave enough to call and ask to speak to the dean and get an answer for us? 😀
DCDAWG said:Thats actually not a bad idea. The person who picks up the phone is EXTREMELY hard to understand. I nominate Bubbleyum, as the eldest and most mature of the bunch to email or call the dean to find out what the dilly is.
DCDAWG said:I bet the Dean and the other higher ups in the admissions office all take these weeks off to go to the Masters. That is why the letter takes so long. They have to wait for them to get back so they can sign off on them.
Oh well. Waiting builds character, right?
bubbleyum said:"some acceptances" does not sound too encouraging... it's friday and nothing in my mailbox. as many have said on this thread, i am guessing this means waitlist/rejection. kinda expected somewhat.
i'm really sad, guys.
S_Talos said:Don't give up that easily. We still have tomorrow, right? 😱
Besides, we haven't seen anyone else that has heard from them. Let's keep the hope alive!
bubbleyum said:so i guess this means nobody has gotten anything in the mail this past weekend.

Wahina said:C'mon, you guys must not know anything about the people in Augusta...They don't take off to go to the Master's, they take off to go on vacation while they rent out their houses for a few g's to rich golf fans!
erin682 said:Funny cuz its true. I just got back.
Good luck to all you guys
PhillyRA said:Is the Dean of Admissions Dr. Thompson? His title is associate Dean for Admissions, but is there another dean of admissions? Curious as to whom I should address my letters.
S_Talos said:He is dean of admissions and chair of the admissions committee, so you can address letters to him.

bubbleyum said:are you sending a letter of intent? they told us on interview day that once the committee has made all their decisions, the waitlist is already ranked and your rank does not change afterwards, regardless of letters of intent/sonnets/declarations signed in blood, etc...
PhillyRA said:I sent a letter of intent in early March, so hopefully it got to them before I was evaluated by the committee. I had addressed it to Dr. Thompson, so my question was really for my own piece of mind in as much as I was corrresponding with the right person.
bubbleyum said:i c. i sent a rather desperate letter to the admissions committee a week after my interview in early feb. i just addressed it to "admissions committee."
DCDAWG said:yeah I addressed mine to the admissions committee as well.
Nope.GAdoc said:Anybody hear anything today?
ugagrad04 said:i consider april 12 to be mid-april, this is getting ridiculous
ugagrad04 said:Just got an acceptance in the mail today from MCG. Hopefully you guys will start getting some news pretty soon. I wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you in the fall.
ugagrad04 said:I interviewed between March 8 and 10, and live in Augusta.

bubbleyum said:finally, congratulations!
when was the letter dated? i interviewed almost a month before you in early feb... i have either been passed over or rejected. ugh.
ugagrad04 said:The letter was dated April 11, so hopefully people outside Augusta will begin receiving letters pretty soon. I was sure that I was getting waitlisted when I received the letter, which had happened before. Keep your hopes up.
bubbleyum said:thanks for the info and encouragement.
sometimes it is even more painful to keep that little sliver of hope alive.. torture, torture...
ernieraisin said:ok..here goes my theory as to how MCG works. tell me what you guys think.
as they told us on our interviews, class will be filled by march 30. then, i think there is probably a lag time during which they go through the file and review who should be on the waitlist. if an applicant is not even deemed qualified for a waitlist, they are sent a rejection letter (as we read on this forum, it seems as if they started sending out rejections). out of those who are put into the waitlist actegory, MCG takes even MORE TIME to rank those applicants. if you are one of the few HIGHLY PLACED waitlisteres (imaybe like ugagrad04???), there is a high probability that you will get an acceptance letter in the middle of april since some of the 190 accepted students will decline the offer by then. i really do believe that if you haven't heard from MCG by now, you are on the waitlist. i think they are probably finished with the ranking and we should all hear from them this week.
i just think that ugagrad was a higly qualified applicant who was either on top or nearly on top of the ranking and as soon as even one accepted student declined his/her offer, ugagrad04 grabbed the open spot.
what do you guys think of my brilliant analysis?
in all seriousness, MCG is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. (that is not to say that i will LOVE them once they offer me a seat!!!) 🙂
