How do you know you will get a rejection letter and not get waitlisted?
It's hard waiting for their reply. I had my interview on the 7th. I wonder how long it will take.
The letter I received at home says: we can not offer you and admission to the school of pharmacy, for the class of 2014........
I dont know why they didn't put me on a waitlist, since It wasn't my first or second choice, I am not much worried about it.
Did you heard anything back from them? or not yet.
Congrats swaller!!! MCPHS is my first choice even though I attended URI as an undergrad. Live there all my life and I'm excited to be on my own for a while! URI/MCPHS my homes!

when did you have your interview?
Where are you guys planning to live? I don't really like the dorms at MCPHS.
I was looking at some places online but they are all kind of expensive for a small unit! So the best thing to do would be to find a roommate. I am willing to go as far as RI to find a place!
I was wondering what we do about books? Is there a bookstore (didn't see one online)?
Thanks very much! I am looking forward to starting school in the fall and meeting everyone! Are you gonna live in RI or worcester?
1 more thing, does anyone know that whether the tuition includes health care insurance?
In the brochure that was mailed with the award letter, it says that we are required to have health insurance. Therefore, it is included in the tuition.
OR
We can fill out a waiver if we have our own (or parents/spouse) healthcare coverage and that would be 1,395 less we'd have to pay to them.
Hey, I just received more student housing info via e-mail. MCPHS had contracted with the Crown Plaza $625 furnish studio-like apt all utilities included, fitness center and pool. FYI: kitchen is shared on each floor.
I also got the acceptance letter today. Congrats to everyone who got accepted, and good luck to those on waitlist.
My stats:
3.78 cummulative GPA, 3.51 science and math
1 year volunteering at hospital
3 months volunteering at community pharmacy
BS in Business Administration

I'm applying for dorm, the 6 bedrooms unit one. It is more convenient for me to live in dorm at least for the first year, even it doesn't really save much.
I think you shouldn't live that far. You may save ~100-150/month, but some of it will go to the gas and you may lose a lot of time to study and hang out with friends.
Btw, has anyone get their financial aid award letter?
The total cost to attend is $59,031 (calculated by financial aid office. I got around $8,000 in Direct subsidized and $27,000 unsubsidized direct loans. I have no income, no saving, and I will need at least $20,000 more. If anyone has the same situation, i think it would be a great idea for us to start doing research and share info about loans.

I got my award letter already. Apply for grad plus loan asap. It will give you extra 20,000. Btw, don't forget to do your entrance counseling and mpn... Btw, the deadline is July 13th I think. I freaked out too...But, all is well.. Everything will meet the cost of attendance =)
Thanks deviant01, I did the counseling, MPN, and applied for the direct Plus loan for graduate student yesterday.
Is anyone here going to live at the Lincoln living center? I just found out that if we live there we have to pay for the meal plan as well. It is a requirement, not an option. I don't really like this attachment but I still go for it at least for the first year.
When you live on the Lincoln Square Living and Learning Center, you are automatically enrolled into the meal plan. It is required part meal plan as part of the package for living on the facility. The plus side to this is if you don't use your credits it rolls over to the next semester for 3 semester only.
Now thinking again and doing some calculation. $1200/semester (3 months), so $400/month is not a bad deal, plus we could save a lot of time for studying instead of cooking. 👍
Have you put down your deposit yet?
yes i did, i feel like everything falling in the right place. I don't have to worry about where i'll live, where i'll buy grocery, ... I just got approved for direct Plus loan too.
I've been waiting for Loma Linda, but now i think that going to MCPHS will be better for me since I will save 60k of tuition, loans interests over an extra year, and a year of salary.

Most of the schools that I have looked at are a little less in tuition than the MCPHS tuition fees so with 4 years its gonna be the same. Still confused. In the New England area it is tight for pharmacist position but you should be ok. Also, I would recommend going to a cheaper school and take the 4 year route. But it's all up to you. MCPHS is ok.
this is the worst school ever..they think they are the harvard school of pharmacy... I am realy disappointed with this school..its realy bad school
I talked with admissions, and they said there was hardly any movement in the waitlist this summer as opposed to other years.Anyone have any information about the waitlist? I cant seem to find anything and the school wont let me know about my status other than im still on the waitlist.
I just got a call from admissions that I am accepted, and I live in seattle washington. This is absolutely crazy!
