Hi guys ~~
I'm currently a P1 at MCPHS. We just finished our harsh 1st semester ~~~ Just warn you guys ahead, we have at least 100 students (most of these students have A and B in other classes) get kicked out for failing class (to be specific PHYSIO 1). Think hard before you come here. Get ready to give up your life and health in Worcester, too 😍😍😍

Really...? :| how hard is classes..

Final exam for Physio is like last year medical student's test 🙂)
Ave final grade of that class was 67 🙂)

Heard this school fails a lot of students. But if they do that then how will they make money? Is this true?

Did they tell you are invited for the interview on the phone? Since they cant tell me on the phone, mabe my rejection letter is on the way🙁((((((

I called them the day i received the letter which was a coincidence since i was at work at the time and they told me we already sent out a letter for an interview. Just ask for the status they will tell you in progress or if they sent you a letter im sure.

Hey all, I have recently been accepted to the 3 yr accelerated program at MCPHS worcester, and reading all the negative reviews about the school & student backlash has got me scared- not gonna lie. :scared:

I was excited about getting done in under 3 years as opposed to 4 years with other programs. What are all your thoughts, am I just overreacting and should stop reading all those negative threads? (Lol)

I was pretty excited and attracted to the 3 year offering from the program. I have been accepted but have not sent my $ nor acceptance letter yet. I thought more about the clinical experience/practice and what I look for in a pharmacy school, and have decided to hold off on accepting at this time. I'm not sure if 10 months of rotations would be enough for me to be prepared for advanced settings for residency---plus, rotations would be around MA and other state, requiring me to have transportation.

As a P2, I would say yes. I have made the dean's list each semester and it hasn't been nearly as bad as some people say. As far as 100 P1s failing Physio 1... that is unheard of. We lost maybe 3 students (out of 300) during P1 fall

Since the class is already "full", has anyone received an interview invite lately?

I got an interview offer in the mail on 12/22. Unfortunately their offices are closed so I can't contact them and accept the interview...

I'm a P1 and there is no way 100 people failed physio....

Best of luck to everyone going for next August! Ive decided to attend another university. I'm sure you guys will all do very well at this school!🙂

I have been accepted to the manchester campus...
Is there anyone that has been accepted to Manchester, NH??
I only see people talking about the Worcester campus 😕

Can P1 students elaborate on 100 students failed the physio?
Is this true? I am scared 🙁
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
Happy new year, guys!

Hi there!
I am a P1 from Manchester. I can try and answer any questions people may have.
This forum really helped me when I was accepted so I'd like to give back 🙂

Hey there Member 456236!!! Well, I really liked the campus... It is small, but I like that it is small. As far as the satelitte classes... My main concern are those classes since I'm not physically in the class and only have access via camera...Do you have any trouble with them? I have seem some negative posts about it, but have also heard that the school has improved their methods towards those classes.
My other questions are regarding finding a place to live and the rotations opportunities... Has the school told you where you would be doing the rotations??? And as far as finding a place to rent... Is there anything you can recommend?

I know... Way too many questions lol 😀

The last post I wrote was meant for you... For some reason it only showed the member # and not the sign in name... Probably because I was not signed on when I initially read what you wrote.

Hey De1a1062,
The campus size is small, yes, but you will rarely ever leave the same classroom your entire semester in the Annex (the second building behind the main one). We do have a lab second semester, so that will be a nice change of scenery. I love the Distance Education (DE). I drive an hour to get to campus and I love that I can always re-watch the lectures if I am too tired or zoned out in the class room. We have only had a couple of days with technical issues. It's a huge plus to have in my opinion. The lecture is given to approx 320 people, so it's not like actually being there has any benefit over the DE. You can clearly hear everything and ask questions ever if your professor isn't in Manchester (a few are taught here). Manchester Place is great apartment bulding. Very clean, modern, you could throw a stone to campus, but they're pricey for one persone, I'd recommend a roommate bc the 2 bedroom is a good value. There's garage parking, security and a gym as well. You also get a free YMCA membership as a student. If you have more questions, ask away!

Jenn

Hey Jenn... Thank you so much for your help. That's great that the lectures are actually recorded.... That was not mentioned when I had the interview. Now I'm not as worried 🙂 that was the only thing that made me worry about this program.
Hope to bump into you in the fall 🙂

Thank you,

Andie

I highly doubt 100 P1 students failed Physio, failed the final, it's possible, but the class no way. I guess I will know when we come back to class on the 14th.

Class of 2015
MCPHS Manchester

I would like to stay in California in the future, but what I was wondering is would it be harder for me to find a job in California if I go to a pharmacy school out of state like MCPHS? Thanks in advance!

Whenever you sit for your NAPLEX you can test for another state. For example, you can ask them to send the scores to the California board of pharmacy and request to be licensed by examination. You must be aware that sometimes to be a registered pharmacist in a different state you must also test for their laws.

here's a link that will help you see better what I mean:
http://www.visalaw.com/IMG/pharmacistchart.pdf

I have been accepted for MCPHS 2016 Worcester but I personally want to do my residency in Chicago. the pharmacists at my job recommended to attend school in a different state then the one you wish to work at because hospitals like diversity.

Hope this could help you.
Good Luck!
🙂

Just got a wait list letter, so I guess it's plausible the class is basically full.

So is there any reason to send in a secondary for the school if the class is already full? We're talking about classes starting this year right?

For the record I was never interviewed and got a waitlist letter.

Just to let everyone know, I was interviewed in Mid-February last year and was accepted. There were people in my class that were accepted after that and from the wait-list as late as the summer. The only downside was the deadline for loan applications being June 1st (not sure if that's exact). So don't give up and do send in everything. Also, that website about the school is way exaggerated and we were shown that last year also. No one really writes reviews unless they are complaining. I love the school and the program and my particular campus (Manchester) which is all I can speak to. Worcester has a completely different experience than us.

it's not true that class was already full because I was interviewed on January 8 and got accepted on January 10. They're still interviewing people.

Um actually if you look closely. There are more than 14 students and a lot of posts are about the pharmacy program

im afraid you aren't the one that looked closely. count how many reviews are from pharmacy students. i'll give you a hint! its 14. in addition, the grades used to critique the school are also based on 14 students as well.

Has anyone that's attending in Fall had their deposit charged yet?? I'm surprised my card hasn't been charged yet...

I was accepted in December and my deposit has not been charged yet... :/

I sent my deposit on October 10th and they charged my account on December 28th.. It takes a while for them to process it!!

Wow! Yes. I sent mine in on November 5th. I guess I'll call to check in. Thanks for the answers, everyone!

I sent mine in on Nov. 22 and my card was charged after Christmas.

Hey everyone! Im a P3 at MCP Worcester... Why are you all freaking out?! The class is not full, interviews go all the way into March if not April!

The number one problem with this site is that someone comes on here, makes a comment, freaks you out and everyone seems to listen!

If you hear negative comments about MCP Worcester, its plain and simple, Its a student who couldn't manage their time or the workload and simply failed out, thats the bottom line. If you don't plan on working hard and studying, then don't apply to MCP Worcester! Im sick of disgruntled students bashing the school.

You guys need to realize one thing, this is graduate school, not undergrad... that means of course expect it to be harder, but since 1823 people have been graduating from this school and this only means one thing...ITS VERY VERY POSSIBLE!!! Its actually not hard at all. I find it harder to fail than it is to pass, you would have to really not study at all to actually fail a class in my opinion.

Good Luck to you all!
