wow, that joke really woke the crickets up.

Do you know how to get to Point Place, WI? I've been invited to a party at foreman's house but they didn't give me directions from milwaukee.

Nobody's gonna be there. got nuked in the 80s.

portal vein is higher or lower....err... upward sorta.

krippendorf seemed a bit grumpy ehh?

She's just tired of you hitting on her.

Guys, WHAT looked like the portal vein?
the cross section. I should've known, because if it was the portal vein, the IVC would still be visible, but I'd already picked ureter twice, and I didn't think IVC would also be there twice. The other 180 structures are getting lonely.

Oh, well, I did well on the practical, so I can't complain.

The desire to become nocturnal may serve you well in third and fourth year... except for the fact that you have to be up during the day too. 🙂

Currently on my eighth (and final) call night for OB/Gyn, waiting for my patient to finish dilating and have her baby so I can get back to sleep. Shelf is on Friday, and the faculty keep calling it "your quiz"... A shelf exam is not a quiz. That's just wrong.

and I've got anatomy/devo in 1.5 hours. YESSSSSS......

🙁 I feel just a tad unprepared

These were the easiest by far. For me. Test-wise I loved block 3. Material wise, anatomy -- after block 1 was done, I eagerly waited for the legs (not pelvis) just the lower extremities.

I nearly started laughing on several of Kolesari's exam questions...

I don't HAVE to imagine....

Egads! I suck at making coffee. How is it that I can be so bad at life, yet so good at taking exams?

We have to take the path shelf exam as our final, that's in addition to the block 8 test the day before it. That's gonna suck.

Good luck, Xandie. =)

whoa, whoa, whoa. hold up. why am i not aware of this? 😡

i have a pod coffee maker. one of the cheap ones that only does coffee. no thinking required.

I saw you flirting with the faculty.....

Yeah, I did my best. Apparently I was exposing my answers to other people. I should have folded my answer sheet anyway but I don't want to have to unfold it each time. She could've just told me to flip it over but instead she touched my hand.😍

It's on the M2 daily schedule for 2nd semester. People were also saying that Dr. Teggatz said something about it at the beginning of the year. I seem to have a vague recollection of that, but maybe people are just putting these thoughts into my brain.

Do those pod coffee makers make strong coffee? Is it a pod espresso machine or a regular brew pod maching?

I was checking that schedule out earlier today. It looks like the path exam held the day before that shelf exam is non-cumulative and only 50 questions from new Block 8 material.

I remember Dr. Teggatz mentioning the possibility of a shelf exam during one of our first classes. He also made vague allusions to the possibility that it wouldn't be graded though, and would be more for our enrichment/board study. I guess we'll see whether the new course director thinks that's a good idea or would rather it be the biggest b!tch of a cumulative exam we have seen in our two years of basic science edermacation.

😡 I guess I'll have to leave my answer sheet flapping in the breeze too next time.

do they post the devo and cha answers online or just biochem?

I don't recall them every being anywhere but on the wall, but that was last year. and a lot changes in a year. like my high school english teacher's hair color.

i have a super cheap one. Found it at Target for $30 a couple years ago. Otherwise, I have never seen another under $50. The espresso pod machines cost more. If I had money, I'd have one of those instead.

oh, okay. this does sound familiar now. so we really don't know at this point?

Didn't know the schedule was up. Usually I'm all over that. I don't understand why it takes so long to get the schedule done. They didn't even change it when we asked them to (unless they did for next semester - in that case "thank you").

According to the spring schedule, on our first day back we'll be learning how to take a sexual history in Psych and how to examine the breasts in CER. Looks like "Touchy-Feely Tuesday" is gonna have a whole new meaning! [/lecherousness]

if we get to practice breast exams on each other, I want to be partners with Andy.

Oh noes! This type of post from Marc was the death rattle of the Official MCW Class of 2009 thread. A few more of these and this thread will be deader than a doornail. Could it be that the Class of 2010 thread will meet its demise so soon?! Say it isn't so, Marc!

Don't make me whip out Meat Loaf.

speaking of threads, does anyone feel bad about us sort of refusing to let the future 2011 class start a thread?

I don't recall making any threatening gestures to anyone from the class of 2011 in order to prevent a thread from being started. Not our fault if we've made the class of 2010 thread so awesomely awesome that no one wants to try to compete with its awesomeness by starting a new thread.

"hey peter! Breast exam on channel 9! Wooo!"

I received a monster espresso maching for christmas last year. It is awesome, I just push a button and expresso comes out. I think it is the reason I'm even passing med school.

As for your espresso machine...I am so freaking jealous. 😡
