Last year they had to make the final more difficult because the averages were too high for the other exams. Well, this is according to only 1 of the test writers.

What was the average for last year ,how many people made it past the cut-off point and how many people did not make it past the cut-off point?.There is a rumour flying around about...........

I have no idea who did what. Most people were in some kind of position to move up a grade for the final but got blind sided by it and ended up staying put. I missed the next grade by 1.2% or something like that. Dissapointing.

If I had to guess what the overall average was I'd say between 84% and 90%. I may be a little high though. Usually when people say a test was "brutal" it means they scored slightly below 90%. ha.

That is a possibility. What sucks about the class is the fact that you study so much only for you to end up with a depressing grade. The professors seem to be out of touch with the text-book. The discussion forum after each exam is more of a therapy session than a discussion forum. It has been an interesting class because of its relevance to medicine and ..........................................

Yeah it is frustrating. I used to get pretty wound up about scores but I don't care any more. These grades don't matter.

Can you all imagine if you'd studied this much in undergrad? haha. I don't even remember studying in undergrad. I'm not sure how I even got into medical school...oh yeah, the MCAT. nice! It is too bad there isn't some other huge standardized test that pretty much determines your career in medicine...

It was a spinoff from Happy Days. It was one of those sitcoms I thought I should like more than I did. I found Lenny and Squiggy scary until the Pregnancy episode.

My parents used to watch Laverne and Shirley. When the monogramming fad came out a few years ago, I thought of that show because of Laverne's big L.

I learned a lot of important stuff from Wayne's World.

I think of that movie often while watching other movies, specifically. I think of Miracle, the horse. "It'll take a miracle to get them out of this!" Sometimes, the horse actually shows up. Princess Bride comes to mind.

I just woke up from a nap (I had my usual sick dreams - something strange and pointless, over and over and over again), and now I'm going to try to stay up long enough for the tylenol to cut down on my fever so my pillow isn't burning up and I'll fall asleep fast.

so I had an interesting evening shadowing the trauma surgery team. Nothing had happened (except for lots of finger amputations from snowblowers - it was like 10 different guys), and at 9, we got a page for a GSW to the leg. Spent 4.5 hours in the OR, and I got to close (suture and staple). Thought that was pretty cool.

Fake boards... 50 USMLE questions. Last year they tested us on neuro, genetics, path. It's on the actual USMLE site. They started it last year for M1s and M2s

Xandie, this is the same optional thing you did only it's required so the school is buying the vouchers for us. 200 questions, same format score report, no access to the answers afterwards, which to me is what makes practice exams useful.

😉 That smiley generally means someone is kidding around. I remember my attitude being just as lousy as yours heading into our mock board session. It's all ridiculous, and you'll be amazed at how little your attitude changes 3rd year in rotations that are not all that relevant to the field you want to go into.
