So I'm wondering if anyone did this or knows anything about it...I'm thinking about combined MD/MPH programs - in the year that you usually take off from med school (after 2nd or after 3rd), is it possible to spend that year completing the MPH at a school in another country? So I would have some MPH courses done at whatever school I go to, and then whatever courses I would have to take during that year off, I would take in another country and not my school. Does that make sense? Anyone ever heard of it? Am I completely unrealistic? 😕

(And yes, I could go ask the specific schools where I may apply here in the US, but I figured I'd start with this forum first...)

i would love to do something similar...........

Haven't met anyone who's done it, but it should be possible... I dunno if you'll be able to get a MPH, per se, but something of an equivalent would be feasible in a year... If I remember right, look into the School of Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine in London... err, forget the exact name, but I think they have year-long graduate tracks in ID.

London is FUN.

Thanks, dlung. I know about that London program, it sounds like a great one - and they do grant an MPH as far as I understood. 🙂

Another vouch for London- I know a few MD/MPHs that did the MPH there. Years later, they are STILL enthused about their experience.
