MDapps is down :(

I intend on using it solely as a means of organization, considering the strongest part of my application is one that any lucky Joe could achieve (excellent EC's).

Also, I think I'll wait to put EC's on there because people that know me IRL could definitely pin me to that account, as they're pretty unique. After all the **** I talk on here, we can't be having that happen.
 
Dude, it's been like 3 weeks! Has it perhpas been fixed and I'm just not doing something to make my comp realize it's fixed (e.g., cookies/cache clear)? Must. Update. MDAPPS!

After three weeks of broken MDApps, I just want to take the darn thing down! Any idea if I can shutdown my MDApps if I still can't log in?

Remove your link from SDN. Then no one will know you even have it. Then keep an eye on this forum. Once it's back up, you can delete it forever via the website.
 
You guys have to find the right time. Sometimes it will be back up for a couple hours or so and then go back down. If you're online when it does go back up, you're good. If not, then it's like it never happened :meanie:

That is an incredibly logical response that did not even cross my mind!! This is what happens when I work the AM shift at work instead of my usual PM..brain just goes *poof*

I'm guessing the problems also affect people registering for MDApps? It says the verification code is invalid when I try to register 🙁

Oh well I have a long time until I really need to use it 😛

I don't even have access to the server since it was transferred over, so I'm as helpless as all of you.

I'm actually considering creating a successor to MDApps.

It seems the site hasn't aged very well and the management is very busy (he is a physician, of course).

It works pretty well and is well done, I don't think a successor is needed. This hiccup now is probably a one time issue since they moved mdapps to the SDN servers(I think) and this change was a response to the other issue a few months ago. :shrug:
 
It's down very often, and the server used to be located in some dude's house in Texas. I'm not criticizing xaelia, I believe he has put a lot into this site, and I'm grateful it still serves it has served its purpose for so long.

And I agree, the site is actually very functional, but I believe much can be improved. A lot of fun things can be done with the site, actually.

Maybe you could offer a partnership of some sort. I quite like MDapps right now and I think the data that is currently on MDapps is extremely valuable. If you were to create another website you wouldn't have the years of information currently on the site.

I think it's a great resource and it shows the information that people are looking for in a concise and efficient manner.

I second these thoughts and would like to add that the SDN administration is very open to propositions. I worked out an entire bilateral business deal with SDN via email/mail, including overhead and profit share. I just didn't have the capital or time to follow-through on my end at the time; I'll probably sign and start-up a few months before MS1 this summer.

Anyway, it was a very stress-free and fair process. I was amazed at the bottom line profit and overhead share they offered.

In fact, I'd love to creatively collaborate on such an MDApps partnership. Please PM me if you're interested.

EDIT: To clarify, my original project didn't involve MDApps. I was posting that I'd like to involve myself with any partnership or new ideas that involve MDApps, especially if xaelia and FictiousForce are down. 🙂

Why don't you ask him if there's something that you can help him with. I think the site is fine, but perhaps he'd like to implement some changes you can assist with.

The troubleshooting team was able to identify and fix the login issue over the weekend. They also made a change that should address the email issue as well.

I have not been able to verify these fixes myself as I am on a super slow wireless connection that keeps failing, but I will check them out this afternoon. We apologize for the delay in getting these issues fixed.
