I'm currently taking neuroscience and I'm finding a lot of the information hard to memorize, especially the different structures and neural pathways and whatnot.

For those of you who've had experience with medical/biology courses, what are some of the best ways to study for these courses so that you can actually learn and memorize the material?

Thanks!

drill it. hit it from multiple directions via multiple different methods. each type might make it more "sticky" for your brain.

So- try:
- drilling each other quizing each other in a study group
- reading from the textbook
- outlining the textbook
- studying your outline
- making flashcards from your outline
- studying lecture
- tape recording lecture and playing it back going over parts you forgot/missed the first time
- meeting with a tutor (does your math & science club have free tutoring hours?)
- making drawings of the textbook drawings
- rewriting and writing down key information

^^ try all of these. When you figure out what way works best for you, by then you'll already know it. Biggest investment is TIME when it comes to mastering material.

Best of luck to ya! :)
