CCLCM: Gateway Notebook (tablet PC), but it's included in your tuition. And after you graduate, you get to keep it.
DMU-COM: Gateway Notebook (tablet PC) and Dell PDA, but it's included in your tuition. And after you graduate, you get to keep em.

KU Med - you have to buy a specific notebook through the school. Its a Hewlett Packard
LSU-NO - they will hand it to you during orientation (and charge your fee bill of course
)
UCLA - requires PC
U Maryland - IBM Thinkpad included in tuition
U Mich - laptop with Windows (can be Mac running Windows)
U Mississippi - Dell Latitiude D620 (can bring your own if it meets requirements)
UVM - Dell
UNC-IBM/Lenovo
U South Carolina - highly recommended Dell configuration
TCOM-they will sell it to you.
Wake Forest - Lenovo Thinkpad included in tuition.
WVU - IBM Thinkpad, bought off them, preloaded with some software.
Medical schools that couldn't care less
Dartmouth: They give you discounts on Apple and IBM laptops, but you can use whatever laptop you want and download the software you need for school for free from the school's IT department.
GW: Some things require PC software but you can use computer labs or put windows on a mac for that.
Loyola: The computer labs have pcs, but you can use whatever you like. We're split between macs/pcs, and a good number of people bring them to class.
MCW: Tour guide said only a few people bring laptops
MUSC: whatever you want
Oklahoma: Discounts through Dell, campus IT supports Wintel
UIC: Said they didn't care, and have Macs and PCs in their labs
UK: Doesn't care if you have a computer at all.
WashU: Lots of people have Macs, actually, but lots of PCs too. Almost everyone has a laptop.
UTHSCSA (San Antonio): I asked on my interview/tour if they had recommendations and the answer was, "computer? what for? you WILL need to get a PDA by your 3rd year though"
