my first one was pulmonology... damn i wanted ER. lol
I had some repeated 7-8 times and at the top of my list it gave me the same score with ortho and renal- the two jobs couldnt be any more different. Some of the questions were repeated at least 2-4 times for me.
What if your response to that question slowly moves from very positive to negative over the course of many iterations?I liked how 'are you okay with repetitive tasks?' came up like 8 times. I kinda expected the result to be 'Surprise! This is a test of your honesty and consistency!'
Why is my score so high for all these?!?!
I don't get why pathology...
were you changing your answers each time or is there some background question bank?
Meh, I am not convinced this test is useful.

LOL gave me pathology and family med. These are things I know for sure I would never want to do.
Psychiatry, Radiology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease
hmmmm....
It was pretty close to being right on!!!! except I do not know anything about aerospace medicine
Top: Neurosurgery
Bottom: Family Medicine
these were right, but the stuff in between I don't agree with. Guess I'll have to get some pretty good Step 1 scores
I've always been open to everything. I highly doubt the accuracy of a 130 question (where many were repeats) test. There are some here that I could definitely see myself doing though.
anyone else getting the same questions over and over?

Psych?!?!?!?! Pretty sure I said I was a bad listener... well I've been thinking med-onc or even heme/onc for a while so this is fairly reassuring.
Why is my score so high for all these?!?!

Aerospace med? don't even know what that is.

Haha, maybe you're fitted for anything and everything!
My range is 48 to 31. I must really like kids, but hate family practice?
Rank Specialty Score
1 nuclear med 49

Somehow I knew these would be my top two. I guess that's what you get for having a father that's a physicist and a grandfather that's a plastic surgeon.
Wow I got Radiation Oncology for both!!!! (I gotta look into that more)

Radiation Oncology
Gastroenterology
Neurology
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Otolaryngology
I'm glad that Neurology is on Buffalo's list but bummed that EM is no where on either
Expected gen surgery, but not cardio at all, nor did I expect neuro. But hey, ortho is on there, and so far that's my dream specialty.
1 cardiology
2 endocrinology
3 general surgery
4 neurology
5 pathology
Edit: For the Buffalo one, I got derm, optho, and otolaryngology as my top 3. My top 10 is almost completely different.
Pathology, Dermatology, Surgery, Surgery, Surgery, Surgery, Surgery...
The top two seem fairly inconsistent with the trend I saw in the next few.
Took it three times. Radiology appeared 1,2,1 the three times I took it, and the one that it appeared #2, Nuclear medicine is #1. Is this thing sending me a message?
were you changing your answers each time or is there some background question bank?
The questions are the same. Some of the gray-area "it depends on the situation" questions I modified slightly just to see that I have the same interests based on my spectrum of interest.
I have been interested in radiology (and pathology) before I took the survey. So maybe there was some bias, who knows.
Meh, I am not convinced this test is useful.

Thoracic surgery being in my top ten makes me happy. Guess we'll find out in 10 years or so.
Going into anesthesia which didn't even make it onto the list. Although I am still curious as to how one would get into aerospace medicine... maybe they need an anesthesiologist up there one day.I want to hear updates people!! Three years down the road.... where are you?
