congrats!! i think this is a great sign for you 🙂

i was wondering if they would be doing something different.. sounded like they were really asking those accepted to decide by april 30th rather than may 15th so perhaps there will be movement before then

I don't understand how schools work. First they say they don't rank the waitlist, then they say they do. The least they could do is be up front with you in the beginning. Lame.
 
has anyone called to find out if they are ranked?
their system does sound a bit confusing..
 
I called yesterday, and they told me they haven't ranked the waiting list yet. The lady i spoke with said that the adcom doesn't begin to do that until after May 15th. Who knows what's going on... there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency happening there.
 
Only 11 more days until the waitlist movement begins!😀 I pray (literally) that at least some of us make it off! Especially you Dr. VanNostran...i've been a lurker for a while and not really posted much, but i can see how bad you want this and we're in the same boat!!! Meharry is a great school so hopefully something will come through. Good luck to everyone though!:luck:
 
I interviewed on april and Mr. Mosely said that the waiting list was ranked. He said it was seperated into the high waitlist and regular waitlist. If you're put on the high waitlist they are basically just waiting for a spot to open for you. As of april there were 12 ppl on the high waitlist. He also said that from year to year they usually have anywhere from 50-70 ppl on the waitlst. I hope this helps.
 
i just called, and she said that the committee ranks but at their own discretion.. you know as weird as this process has been i do like how every time i call they are so nice and friendly!

but so it sounds like the 'high waitlist' may be that 10% that someone got an email about. i guess then the rest of us may be on the regular waitlist?

Yeah that email is sounding more and more right now. Slowly but surely our chances our decreasing. When do classes officially start at Meharry?
 
There is always hope. Does anyone know how much waitlist movement occured last year?
 
Hi everybody

Just got the e-mail today from Meharry saying I was waitlisted. i interviewed on April 30th.
 
meharry starts june 18th..!

in terms of waitlist movement last year, there's a thread (and i think i posted it at the beginning of this one) about it.. doesn't make things too hopeful but hey not everyone is on sdn so hopefully there was movement.. just wasn't tracked here..

Any new news from Meharry? I too have been waitlisted there. I live in nashville. So, it's a definite bonus for me.
 
YEAH! May 15th - one more waiting benchmark passed. Only a little more waiting to go!😳

Do you know when/if they rank the waitlist? I am getting really nervous 🙁 It seems like we potentially can hear notttthing until a rejection letter after classes start...so so nervous :scared:

One of my fellow interviewees talked to Mr. Mosely recently and he said that they are in the process of making decisions now, so expect to hear something by e-mail or phone call by Mon. or Tues. I hope this helps to ease the anxiety a little bit. I am faithfully waiting and trusting that all that is supposed to be will be....

:laugh: If I could, I would be on SDN at work. Unfortunately, I am no where near a cpu😛
 
No news....and I am going to Africa tommorow for work for 8 days so I will be a basket case for the whole 8 days if I don't hear anything by tommorow.

I just callled because I am so paranoid that I may have missed a call or something, but no word...they said they will call then email...so hopefully we get a call :luck:

I didn't get a time line. But classes start on the 18th right 😕 So, maybe we have about a month of waiting left:luck:

i haven't.. reallllly hoping this/something else pans out first.. i'm gonna give it another month or so.. (which would actually put us at the meharry start, haha)

i just talked to ms davis.. she said that so far no one has dropped. when they do, then the admissions committee will let them know who to pull..

also their commencement is saturday so their office is very busy.. i think there will probably still be some waiting..

Okay.. . I am getting ready to leave and I will not cut my phone off until we get in the air. It will be my luck Mr. M calls while we are taking off and my signal fades 🙂 Well, I guess I will be in freak out mode until Wed. Hey....yepiminthere I am going to senegal first and then end up in Jo'burg, SA.

Look at you! You can't even wait until I'm out the door before you slam the door on my butt. 😀 You remind me of that A.G. Edwards commercial where a man retired and left the company. But the moment he got to the door he realized he forgot to pick up his "nest egg" so he went back but only to find his former co-workers and subordinates already swarmed his (former) office, looting and helping themselves to everything he left behind! 😱
