I know the meme thread is not the place for intelligent questions, but how is bls only reporting 11,000 podiatrist positions? I thought there were ~18000 of us. Does this exclude practice owners (i.e. self-employed)? How is bls projecting only 200 new jobs from 2021 to 2031?

I think they are taking into account semaglutide drastically decreasing the incidence of diabetes resulting in 7,000 of us going back to PA school...and in the interest of putting this discussion back on track

vintage podiatrist = old podiatrist

I think this is the same troll going through the r/podiatry forum.

What a jabroni. Sounds great, but a) one does not simple open their doors and see 25 patients a day 5 days a week, b) it costs money to open a practice and you gotta take loans to do it, c) there's not really a city in the US with a "low density of podiatrists".

This was in the thread, someone with a Reddit account should ask them how close they are to that $300k as a podiatry associate 🤣

The “City”(it was incorporated as a city) I worked in and its whole rural county had 3 podiatrists. At one point I was the only one. The other hospital in the county ended up hiring two. You can find super rural places and set up shop. And give the patients options in additional to the hospital podiatrist(which was me).

I think we can all read between the lines here and see that this guy was bamboozled by someone who looks like @iridocyclitiss avatar into thinking they'll be clearing 300k in his first year out of residency.
