I just got a call from my Navy recruiter. Apparently the MEPS doctor gave me the OK to come for my physical, but he said I have to get a psych eval first.

Is this standard procedure? I have NOTHING in my file that would necessitate this (no psych Hx, no medications for depression/anxiety/etc, no criminal charges, no drug use, i've never even had a speeding ticket)! It's especially weird because I passed my Army physical at BAMC a month ago without any mention of psych stuff. (The Navy is now requiring me to go to MEPS though, they can't use this physical).

Did anyone else have to do this? I'm really curious as to what is going on. Maybe they mixed up my files with someone else.

That is strange. Usually when you take a physical at MEPS, anyone of the branches can use the physical that was taken. The recruiter just has to request it from the other branch.

yeah, that's what I figured too. But it wasn't done at an official MEPS, it was just with Army physicians so the Navy couldn't use it, even though it's the same exact forms.

I'm more curious about this psych eval though.
