What does a "bad interview" mean in your opinions? I think mine went fairly well and I have a high GPA compared to MWU's average on PharmCAS, but for all I know, I may have had a poor interview?
 
A bad interview depends on the professors that interviewed you during the interview. if they think you stood out then you're good to go. If you didnt stand out, then they would rank you lower than the others and you had a bad interview. So this topic is debatable, and only the people that interviewed us during the interview would know the answer to that. However, I can tell you what a bad interview is...from where i was sitting during my interview. For instance...this girl in my group kept volunteering to speak last or second to last. At one moment she even paused and said, "OMG..i forgot what i was going to say...what was it.....oh yes!..." This other guy said, "I think the curriculum back in my native country is harder than the curriculum here in the US. So basically...i think i'll be okay in pharmacy school." Clearly, the first girl was not confident, and the guy was too cocky. Unless they have super good grades to back it up, I doubt they got accepted. Also, in my opinion, people who yaps on and on talking in circles and not answering the simple question are the people that have bad interviews. There were 6 interviewees in my group and only this other girl and I answered each question clearly, straight to the point and short. I volunteered to go first when no one else wanted to go first. Then, i volunteered to go second and third for the following questions. Just so they don't think i'm a hogger. I'm sorry for talking bad about these people and i hope that this doesn't come back to haunt me in the future, but i just wanted to answer your question. I hope this helps. P.S. if you think you did fine, then i'm sure you did fine. Just ask yourself if you think you answered the questions clearly. If you think you did, then you're okay. GL

Thanks for the response! In my group, there were 3 people who always wanted to answer first so they sort of hogged those spots. And oddly enough, every person in my group was very competent and had good experiences/examples to use in their answers (myself included). I'm so anxious to hear back. ugh! :scared:
 
What would you consider competitive scores for Midwestern? Is a 3.3 GPA competitive? And is a PCAT score higher than 65 comp?

As far as competitive I'd say >3.4 gpa >70 pcat

at least.
 
This question was probably asked before, but i was wondering.. Is there summer classes?

There are no summer classes. Also this school operates on a quarter system so you'll get a 1 week or so break between quarters. 😀

Awesome. So how long is the summer break? Also how long is a school year, as in how many months are we actually in school in total?

I was wondering why you chose to reschedule your interview date vs. getting it over with? Do you think it will affect your chances of acceptance by deferring your interview for a later date?

Well, I rescheduled mainly for 2 reasons.

1. I have finals during the week of 12/12, so I want to focus fully on studying for my exams rather then worry about the interview lol.

2. Midwestern is not my first choice, IF I did get accepted right away.. I didnt want to pay the $1000 deposit and find out I was accepted to my 1st choice lol.
 
To those who had their interview today, did MWU say when the AdComs will be meeting this month?
 
submitted my supplemental yesterday! is midwestern on break already or is there a chance i'll receive an interview invitation before the holidays?

The next interview dates are Jan 8 and 11..

You should get an interview soon, I got mines a couple days after submitting Supp app.

I submitted my supplemental and 2 hours after they received it I got a interview invite. I've read that it can take a couple days though

I was at the November 28th interview and I'm still waiting. They said they we would know before Christmas. But I'm hoping they meet tomorrow because I can't wait either!

Typical academic year:

- Fall Qtr: 10 weeks + 1 finals week
- Thanksgiving break: 1 week

- Winter Qtr part 1: 4 weeks
- Winter break: 3 or 4 weeks depending
- Winter Qtr part 2: 6 weeks + 1 finals week

- Spring break: 1 week
- Spring Qtr: 10 weeks + 1 finals week


PS-1 year (late Aug/early Sept - May)
Summer break (June - late Aug/early Sept)
PS-2 year
Summer break
PS-3 year (no summer break)
PS-4 rotations

Does everyone get interviews here or something? I just received an interview like a day after turning in my supplemental. My overall is only a 2.7 and science 2.5... :|. I was given option of Jan 11th.

Previous posters were discussing this in the last few pages here. I believe that MWU (atleast CCP) will invite you for an interview as long as you meet all of their minimum requirements.

Don't get your license until after march. It's when they expire so you will have to pay to renew it in march anyways!

Whoops i changed my interview to23 or something. Better for me i stay in Chicago for a week for 3 interviews

Definitely not public transit since there really isn't any to MWU. As for taxi vs. rental car, I suppose it depends on how long you are staying in town. If you are staying for one day, I would say bite the bullet and pay for 2 taxi rides (to and from the airport).
