Anyone going to the November 28th interview date? I just got my invite this morning.

Man I haven't been on this site in a while lol.. but awesome! I'm almost done with my supplemental application and will hopefully submit it in a few days.

How was the interview process? I just interviewed at UGA and it was really laid back. I feel like it won't be the same for other places.

I'd say you have a chance, I just interviewed there and your stats are close to mine. I really liked their program. Still waiting to hear back from them though.[/QUOTE]

Is anyone a bit concerned that by going to Midwestern, it may be a disadvantage since there are 3 other Pharmacy schools in Chicago besides MWU (chicago state, UIC, and Rosalind Franklin) and that it may be hard to find rotations and such? I'm not sure how it works at MWU, or if they have a system worked out already with where students do rotations...but I'd thought I'd ask..since i've been accepted to multiple programs. All other programs that I've been accepted to are more rural. Anyone that is a student at MWU, please help me by giving me more info. Thanks!

P.S. does MWU-CCP c/o 2017 have a facebook account set up for those that are accepted to join? I tried looking, but didn't see one. In fact, I only see a MWU-CPG.

Rotations are set up by our Office of Experiential Education (OEE) and they set up our Winter PS-1 Community Rotations, Winter or Spring PS-2 Hospital Rotations, and our Winter or Spring PS-3 Clinical Rotations. For your fourth year, you're allowed to choose your own APPE program, in-state or out-of-state. So yes you can go home during your PS-4 year.

PS-2 and PS-3 rotations are either Winter or Spring. Obviously there are less numbers of hospitals to community retail sites so our class is divided into half. Half will do their rotations in the Winter and the other half in the Spring.

So far, there has not been a problem in getting our rotation sites. The only biggest complaint my classmates have is sometimes the assignments are far for a commute. They do try to arrange a site close to your residence but logistically you can't make all 200+ students happy. My PS-1 site was 30 minutes away, which honestly wasn't too bad. Some had sites 5 minutes away and I have heard of a 1-hour commute.

This winter I will have the privilege of doing my Hospital rotations at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I'm kind of excited because I hear amazing things about this Hospital.

P.S. Feel free to create the official FB group for your class and make sure to post it here so everyone can join 🙂

Thank you for the info Jkong! Your info sure eased my mind a bit. Now I'm just afraid of driving in the snow. It's gonna take awhile for me, a californian, to adjust....lol

Oh snow. I have so many stories. I, too, am a Californian... and even though last winter was "nothing" compared to what Chicago normally gets, it was still an adventure...

What I learned last winter:

  • Basically, if the grounds are plowed and salted, it's all good.
  • If not, drive SUPER slow like 5mph slow, especially in a curve.
  • Stab braking is recommended.
  • SUV is better than a passenger car, but yes you can still drive with a passenger car.
  • If you have FWD, alley dock your car.
  • After the snow is gone, go to a carwash to get that salt off to prevent erosion.
  • Snow chains are illegal on normal surface streets
  • My OEM tires were just fine this winter. (2009 Toyota Matrix)
  • Park in the garage when it snows

This is my car last winter. I thought since I couldn't reverse through the piled snow, to go forward. I forgot that area is grass and there is a concrete curb after the grass. Naturally, I got stuck. MWU Security helped push me out.

Oh gosh....you're really scaring me now. lol. Nice car btw.

Driving in the snow is really not that bad. In the last few years we have had barely any snow (aside from the massive snowpocalypse a few years ago). My main advice with snow driving is to brake early when you know the roads are slick. Also, do not slam on the brakes unless you feel like sliding around lol

is there any public transportation in and out of this school? I have an interview invite and i am worried about how i will get to the campus.

I was excepted 2 weeks before the fall semester began.

Aww nothing to worry about! It's just something to be cautious about. I survived with no accidents or any mishaps! My car is running just wonderfully fine.

Like my dad says, "If other people can do it, you can too"

I wonder how financial aid works in this situation? If I am not accepted , I will be filling out FASFA for undergrad and not accepting any loans however if accepted to professional school will need to fill out FASFA without parents and will need lots of loan funds. Anyone have similar situation? Also do they start looking at alternatives any sooner and how are they ranked?

Yaay I got an interview for December 12! Is anyone else coming up that day?

For those who have already had their interview, how was it? The last interview I had was really laid back, but I don't want to just assume they're all going to be like that.
In the email I got from Midwestern they said that there will be a group interview. Is there no individual interview at all?

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a great thanksgiving! Congratulations to those who have gotten accepted, and stay patient to those who are still waiting for a decision =) As a member of the PS-1 student council, the 2016 class (and other upperclassmen, course) would like to be of any aid and answer any questions anyone may have about MWU-CCP, the application process, and the curriculum. Last year's PS-1s and other upperclassmen were very helpful and encouraging throughout our application process, and we want to be the same to the incoming students and applicants. Our facebook group was a great resource for meeting people, finding housing and roommates, as well as getting any of our questions answered by current students. We hope that your facebook group would be of the same assistance. Please request to be added to the group so we can get you guys connected with other applying/accepted students. Good luck!

ALL loans from here on out.
There are scholarships you can apply for, but you must keep up with the deadlines.

No individual interview at all, only group. No worries, just review the SDN interview feedback and take note of whats been said in the forums 🙂 Goodluck!

YAY go imclarkent 🙂

Yes I know all loans but what if I am not accepted by time I fill out FASFA? I will then continue undergrad towards Biology degree and try again next year . So if accepted last minute can you get FASFA adjusted quick enough to cover professional school ?? When applying for undergrad FASFA still looks at parents income but once in professional school it does not include parents . My point is FASFA will be figured based on undergrad school if not accepted to pharmacy school ? , then would need corrected if accepted last minute. Do you understand what I am asking ?

You should call the financial aid office at MWU. They r very nice and helpful there.

did anyone who interviewed on November 14th hear back yet?

Does anyone know how much on campus housing costs and if its hard or easy to get it?

I got an interview on the same day! I guess I'll be seeing you there 🙂

Does anyone have any information about what kind of questions Midwestern asks in the interview? And how did you guys prepare?
Also, how long after the interview do you usually hear back?

Awesome! I am getting pretty nervous, as I booked my flight last night. Still need to book a hotel and look into car rentals...whew fingers crossed for both of us!

Lol I know the feeling! Good luck coming in though, I really hope it doesn't snow those few days

Check the interview forum on this site for MWU. I studied those along with Glendale's and that was enough preparation for me. They didn't ask nearly as many questions as I thought they would. It took almost an entire month to hear back. Interviewed October 10, accepted November 8. Good luck to everyone on their upcoming interviews! The interviewers were very easy going, so relax and just be yourself!

Got an interview invite for December 12th!! See you guys there 😀

Congrats to everyone!! 🙂

Care to share some of the questions they asked during the interview process? How many people per group during the interview? Did you sit in a circle?

This question has been asked a bunch of times already. There is a whole section on sdn with this information.

Im aware. Most of the replies in there are dated. This thread is for 2017, meaning everyones interviews are RECENT, hence the reason im asking in this thread.

I interviewed November 28th. I used the Interview Feedback section on SDN to prepare for the interview and the questions given on the MWU-CCP page are very accurate. I was asked many of the questions I saw on there. I believe I had to answer about 4 or 5.
