I definitely have this problem. I also can't sit and study for a few hours straight. It's okay as long as I don't procrastinate though! 🙂

In my experience, having a bf can either help you study better or ruin your GPA. I'm sure in grad schools, the boys are more mature and will help more than hurt!

I hope we find out if we were accepted today. It's only been 4 days since my interview but I feel like it's been months lol. 🙄

Didn't someone say they meet on Fridays? So check your portal after 12 today constantly and more checking monday.

Okay, maybe not constantly, I would say once every 30 mins will do.
 
I interviewed on 11/11and I hope I find out today as well... I heard though that if you don't get accepted
they mail you a letter so... However, I still see no changes on my portal.

It's nearing the holidays and maybe they started doing pot luck at work. After food, productivity can be very very slow...

Yeah, that was me :cP That's what the admissions people told me anyway. So much for getting any work done today... I'll be checking it constantly lol.
 
well done to those that interviewed monday and got their notices today!

I had my interview earlier today and during the meeting the admissions dean said he didn't think they were going to be able to get their committee together today, but that they'd have it done by thanksgiving. so i am guessing that they met for mondays interviews earlier and didn't release the notifications until today.

at least thats what i am hoping.... anyone who was accepted today interview this morning????

Oh well, I'm going to chalk it up to my last name and assume they just haven't gotten to me yet.

I know they are going on a long recess soon for the holidays,

The rest of you holding on, just be patient ( yeah, easy for me to say NOW heheh), I didn't see a portal change until like 530 pm the day I was admitted.

I have GOT to break the study=food correlation. I think I put on 10 pounds during Physics cause I just hate studying it. Too bad i can't smoke...

I also have a black DSH who is my buddy.
I don't think they would do too well in a study group. Would silly photos of them do ?

I was in the second group and on panel c. In a dark gray suit and red tie, sound familiar?

Dr. Dietrich (associate dean of admissions) came to our school Friday to speak to our pre-pharmacy club. I have some interesting, and most likely positive, news for you.

MWU interviews about 450 people because this is about how many interviews they need to fill their 150 seats. Right now, they have 60 deposits. However, they expect about half of those people to change their minds and go elsewhere. MWU has rolling admissions, and they start accepting people in September. However, most schools don't start accepting people until after the first of the year. So, many who get accepted to MWU may also get accepted somewhere else later and choose that school instead. So realistically, there are still about 120 seats left for their program.

What happens, is that in March/April they start going down the list of people who have been put on the wait list. He said they need to call 5 people on the wait list just to get one seat filled. This is because 4 out of 5 of those people have already been accepted someplace else and decide not to go to MWU. So if you think about it, if there are still 70 seats to fill come next spring, they will need about 350 people on their wait list to fill those seats. This is why they will never just flat out reject or deny you.

Those who are on the wait list are ranked. How their ranking system works will remain a mystery. You will also never know where you are in the ranking. You could be number 10, or you could be number 340. Basically, what it comes down to, is that if you get invited to interview at MWU, you have a very good chance of getting accepted at some point, even if its in May.

Thanks for the info definitely helps to give hope🙂, are you at PVCC by chance? I remember seeing posters saying he was coming posted around campus. I couldn't make it cause I work Fridays.
 
I've turned down my acceptance and will be attending UNC instead. Good luck to those still waiting!

My panel of interviewers (B) didn't show much emotion but liked my responses. "fingers crossed"

Say, just how many of us PVCC folks are hanging around here anyway ?
I wish the club could have met any day but Fridays, I always work on Fridays also, and have only been able to make one meeting.

Yes. I'm the VP of the pre-pharmacy club. I hung those bright green posters. =)

I saw another post about someone else working on Fridays. One of my thoughts for next semester is to hold the meetings on Thursday afternoons at 3:00pm. (Not every Thursday). I know of many who can't come of Fridays because they work or they don't have classes on Friday and don't want to come to campus on their day off.

There is usually a dead zone for classes in the late afternoons; between the day and night classes. How do you feel about Thursday meetings? No promises, just a thought I've had since the semester started.

yup, that was me allright. I thought for the most part my interview went pretty well. it was a but unnerving though because the other 2 people in my group had 3 masters between them!

I'm hoping to get a quick response by thursday, and hopefully we'll be seeing each other at lunch next fall!

I hope I get a good response by this week too! I'm patiently waiting and am hopeful. Stressful!!! I think I better go and cook something.. It helps me relieve stress.

I took Statistics at PVCC. 😀

I work full time during the day (and before that starting in the afternoon) so I never could join a pre-pharm club at any of the CCs. Wish I could have.
 
What's everyone doing for thanksgiving? How many dinners will you guys have? I personally will be eating 4 times...gym will not be happy come Monday lol.

Anything special? Besides frantically refreshing your portal (for those just interviewed)

Woah suprised at how many other people on here have hung around PVCC 😀

I think Thursdays would help hugely with the number of people who either have no class or work on Fridays and it's true I actually have a massive empty gap between two classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon this semester. I am not sure how my next semester will pan out at this point though I maybe switching to working Tues and Thurs afternoons and Fridays all day. But I can always try to work something out to make it to meetings 🙂

Btw thanks for the hard work you guys do to set those meetings up and to put up all those posters every other week!

Two epicly proportioned dinners this week, I actually can't wait, love Thanksgiving for the food and the family time and my entire extended family is coming for this week. 😀

Gonna eat myself into a coma... I don't get a lot of dinners like this hahaha

thats the way to go! my productivity was negative today after thanksgiving lunch at work. going to another one tonight and then prepare for one on Thursday.

Paradise Valley Community College. One of the local CC's not very far from Midwestern. They have a really good science program there, and they really work to produce competitive science based students. Apparently lots of us go on to MWG.

My Thanksgiving plans involve working. I am not a big turkey or pumpkin pie fan, so I usually volunteer to work so someone else who would really appreciate the day off can have it. Probably a quick stop in on the big family party on the way.

I feel for you. I dont know if you saw Nelcovp's recap upthread, but most of the waitlist folks will be offered a seat. Just keep the faith!
