Any insights (pros/cons) into the reserve program of the various military branches. The additional 13K/year during residency sounds tempting.

I am Army HPSP so I am pro military, but.....

Being a doc in the reserves can hurt you. At my institution, our stud vascular surgeon got deployed to Afghanistan and then Iraq. I think he was gone for 9 months. I'll bet that cost him over $200,000 in income.

Just something to think about.
