I was charged with minor in possession of alcohol in the dorms back in my freshman year of college. I have several concerns before I submit my primary application:

1) Do I have to say yes to the question: "Have I ever been convicted of a misdemeanor?" if the case was expunged?

2)
I had to go through disciplinary probation where I had to take an alcohol education class. Is this something I have to report as an Academic Infraction, where i "have been disciplined for student conduct violations?"

If it was expunged, then you were probably convicted so I would include it, personally. You could, of course, ask the AADSAS if the expungement needs to be included.

I would include the disciplinary action because if they contact your school it will show up on your record.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I wanted some opinions on SDN on how I should approach this before I commit. There is a section named Academic Infraction on ADDSAS, where it asks "Have you ever been disciplined for student conduct violations (e.g. academic probation, dismissal, suspension, disqualification, etc.) by any college or school?" Is this where I would explain the disciplinary action for this situation?

Yeah, that is where I would include the explanation.

I'm looking at past forums and a ton of people are saying that expunged records should not be disclosed. Can someone please clear this up for me? If this is true, would I still need to state that I have records of institutional action?

That's what ADEA says:

Do I have to report an arrest, a charge that did not result in a conviction, traffic violations, convictions that have been expunged, records that are sealed or campus policy violations?

You should use your judgment in including criminal and campus arrests and convictions on the application. Remember, dental schools conduct criminal background checks on applicants who have been accepted so if it will appear on the record, it is best to disclose it early to avoid appearing to hide the information.

Where does it say that? I'm looking in FAQs and don't see that quote. Do you mind sending the link?

This is simple. Were you convicted or not? If There was no conviction and you had it expunged, the next step would be to contact your school and see if it is on your school record. If it is, appeal to have it removed since there was no conviction. Then don’t say a word to anyone. The point of expunging/sealing is for situations like this. It exists for a reason. Never give anyone information they can use against you, especially if you have gone through the process of expunging it. Do not listen to anyone on this board who tells you otherwise, most of the people on here are clueless kids who don’t know how to care of themselves or have any idea how the world works.

If you can get it off of your school record then you could probably get away with not including it. But if it is there and the dental school asks if police were involved then you start to run into issues. They won't be able to see the conviction but you start giving them things to question.

The other thing is licensing boards can see closed records which include expungments, so far as I understand. So again this may come back up when you start registering for boards.

Do what you want, just make sure you do your due diligence and check with different schools anonymously and the AADSAS.
