In my activities section, I listed my capstone research and thesis. In it, I accidentally wrote “2500-page” instead of 2500-word essay. I originally had it formatted as page and then changed it for clarity, and I guess my brain autocorrected during my editing. Dumb mistake I know

Should I write schools or the application service about this? Part of me thinks that it’s so egregious that they'd probably understand it was a typo and know I meant word count or a much smaller page number, and pointing this out would hurt me worse. However, I also don’t want to appear dishonest and try to act like I created some masterwork of literature. Thoughts?

"Damn, I feel sorry for the professor/TA who had to read that essay."

It would be obvious to anyone reading your application that it is a typo/error. Someone might ask about it in an interview and ask you to clarify. If I were interviewing you, I might make a little joke about the length and then ask you about the content. That would be your opportunity to correct the error in your conversation with the interviewer. Don't bring it up but be prepared if it is brought up.
