Mistake in LoR

One of my letter writers just informed me that he mistakenly wrote the wrong field in my LoR (surgery instead of radiology). It has already been uploaded to eras by my school, and my eras has been submitted. For most programs, I can't uncheck the box for his letter. He is happy to send a corrected one and my school is happy to upload it, but will it make any difference? What should I do at this point?

What about contacting the programs directly and seeing if they want a new letter or will redownload that corrected ERAS? Cause I imagine as Rads you want your app as close to perfect as possible. I would definitely have them make a note on the file at the very least. MY MS1 2 cents so they're not super worth much here. I hope you get it fixed though.

Well, according to this thread, your letter SHOULD be replaced if it was one of your original 4 LORs.

And according to the LOR FAQ, you can inactivate the LOR and send in the corrected one (8 or 9 questions down). If you can do this, I would send a quick note to programs about why you did.

I'm a first year and haven't looked into ERAS yet though. Hope this helps.

thanks for the tips. looks like the new version automatically gets downloaded by the programs. the track applications tool will show u when it was downloaded. so now i can breathe easy
