it probably depends on when you interviewed. email marivern easton or laura carroz and they can probably give you an approximate date you'll find out.

let us know what you find out

Didn't they say they would send status emails the 3rd week of every month?

yes, but is that monday or friday?
is next week the third week?

I'm guessing its next week, and all I know is their adcom meets on Thursdays.

just got an email acceptance about 10 min ago! it said in the email that they will be sending a formal acceptance letter via email. check your email guys! good luck!

btw, does anyone know if they give any scholarships?

Ooh, I just got the no status change, not good enough this round, better luck next month email. Darn, I guess I thought I aced that interview. Oh well, maybe that'll make a good Christmas present...

Congrats though, borat2008!

congrats Borat2008.

I just got an email saying that my name is not in the pool of "small" number of those who are accepted. But hope remains! ^^

Any one knows what they mean by "small" number?

So I didn't even get put off into a pool for a later decision at my home state.

With the facts that I was given a relatively early interview and then was rejected the relatively early with out being put off till the next month or waitlisted Do I need to take a seriouse look at my interview skills? Maybe they didn't think I was a good match for some other reason (I guess they wouldn't have interviewed me if this was the case though)?

Any opinions?

I doubt it is your interview skills, bro. I interviewed there last year and pretty much had the same damn thing happened to me. My interviews went well and my stats were above their average for matriculants. They have a formula for calculating applicants, and the real question is what the hell goes into it. I think I lost ground there last year because almost all of my clinical experience was research based, and I didn't want to go into primary care (which I was honest about at the interview). Anyway, if you have any upcoming interviews, I'd focus my energy there and don't get too bummed about the Mizzou thing...they have a very defined profile of who they want to accept, and if you don't fit it, it's rejection time. Best wishes for your future interviews. :luck:

So this is the first time I've actually ever posted but I thought I would lend what I know. When they say "small" number that are accepted each round it just means that they only accept a few select people each round and then make a bulk of their decisions at the end of the interview season. That's what I was told atleast. My question though is why haven't I heard anything yet? I interviewed in early Oct and I heard absolutely nothing today and their office closes in just a few minutes. 🙁

So it's the 3rd week of the month, and last month emails went out on a Tuesday... thought I'd bring this to the top again to see what people hear today/this week...

Ooof... thanks for the reminder. I guess it'll be another "SDN --> email --> SDN --> email -->..." day.

yeah it was tuesday last time due to Thanksgiving
id expect thursday or friday this month

Ah that makes sense... sorry to get your hopes up Mongrel haha

i dare someone to call them and ask what time the email update will go out

double dare

double dare

"I don't know a specific time... I know its this afternoon or evening."

Oh, really?

(Yes, I fell for the double dare)

Check this out, I got the acceptance e-mail this afternoon and then about 15 minutes later an e-mail saying that there was a mistake and I was actually rejected. It's a good thing that I have other acceptances to lessen the blow. But still, nothing screams kick in the nuts like a revoked acceptance...******* admissions committee.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???????? 😕

I'm so sorry- that sucks! Did you call to clarify things????

I'm in limbo- will continue to be reviewed. 🙁 Ah well.

I just checked my e-mail, so I couldn't call to contest; sadly, I think I'll have to wait until after the holdiays. Anyway, you're the guy who also got into Creighton, right? How's that scholarship application coming along?

uh, well, I'm not exactly a guy.. 😉

and it's not so far. 😀 (I think I'm going to call or email first, since I don't want to insult their intelligence if I really don't qualify and try to act as if I do)

Yeah, me too. What can you do?

Hurry up and wait.

me too, but if I remember from the non-trad thread, I interviewed after you. 🙂

Damn. I thought I had you pegged for someone that interviewed with me. At any rate, I interviewed on the 14th.

G/L.

nope- that wasn't my date.

and :luck: to everyone who's waiting! any news from mongrel yet?

Congrats, lacrossefiend. I also got the big No Change email. The line at the end Please feel free to telephone our Admissions Office (573-882-9219) if you have any questions regarding the admissions process makes me feel like I could be more proactive in the process. Do you think calling them and asking what I could be doing to make myself a more desirable applicant would help? Ugh, Mizzou is my number one...

Out of curiousity, who did you guys interview with at Mizzou?

Thank you, mongrel. Honestly, I think you have an amazing chance at getting in. You seemed excellent when I met you on our interview day, so they'd be crazy not to take you. Just remember that even if it comes to the end of the season and you get put on the waitlist, Mizzou's waitlist moves a LOT.

I think you'll get in w/ no problem!

Maybe I should call and see if my acceptance letter is legit. Sorry to hear that, buddy. I would be furious too.

You're probably good, like I said, the rejection letter was sent approx 15 min after the accpetance one. As much as it pissed me off initially, I have to give them some shred of credit for not letting it go over the holiday break (although I still plan on calling the admissions office after the new year just to make sure the rejection is official). What can I say...loved by private schools hated by public ones, lol.

Anyone received interviews recently? Do you know how late they interview? There is such little info about Mizzou here on SDN.....

do a search and you should be able to find a thread on mizzou from last year. it has some pretty good info on when most decisions are sent out, waitlist stuff, and possibly how late they interview.

I did read last year's, and I know it was sometime in Feb, just not sure when in Feb.....Depakote's posts were the best about the detailed info about the school...

And I thought they had a new admissions director this year, no?

Yes, there is a new admissions director, Marivern Easton. Perhaps interviews will go a bit later into February since they seemed to start on the late side this year. But I'm not for sure.

Dedikated- Did you ever call about your revoked acceptance? What did they say?

I'm curious too...I got an interview invite after a post-sec rejection at another school. When I showed up for my interview, they actually apologized and said it was a combination of staff turnover/new computer system/large number of applicants. I figure we will all make mistakes in life, even though what happened to Dedikated was not a good experience. At least he had other acceptances.

A friend interviewed this week. Details escape me, but I believe he was told he'd be getting an interview in late Dec and firmed up the date after the first of the year.

With a new DOA, it's hard to know exactly how things will play out compared to previous years. You could always call or email the office and see if they'll give you an idea. They were nice with me when I called with questions.
