A friend interviewed this week. Details escape me, but I believe he was told he'd be getting an interview in late Dec and firmed up the date after the first of the year.

With a new DOA, it's hard to know exactly how things will play out compared to previous years. You could always call or email the office and see if they'll give you an idea. They were nice with me when I called with questions.

Thanks. I just shot them an e-mail asking that same question. I'll post here if I hear anything

Dedikated- Did you ever call about your revoked acceptance? What did they say?

Yeah, I called and they said that the rejection was official. Oh well...2 acceptances 😀, at least 1 more interview 🙂, and 1 lone, kick-in-the-nuts, rescinded acceptance/rejcection from my state school...go f*ckin figure 👎.

So we should be getting the "Status" email tomorrow correct? I got the "Status Unchanged" last month. I interviewed on 12/10/07 I think. So far no acceptances....😡 And Mizzou is my #1, it being my home state and undergrad institution. Hope I get in tomorrow! Have interviews coming up at KU, Creighton, and Drexel.

:luck::luck::luck::luck: Lots of luck to everyone if they come out tomorrow!

This is the 3rd week of the month! Why the hell haven't the emails come out today? Has anyone talked to them?

I know!!! I was anxiously waiting all F^(kin day, and the email never came. I called at around 4:30 and it went straight to laura carroz's voicemail. I don't know whats going on. :scared:

Ugh seriously. If I was betting, I'd say they'll send those emails early next week (after the 20th). I'll need a few more days to prepare for my monthly "Don't get too excited / no change" email.

A friend interviewed earlier this month and was told Jan decisions will come out next week.

My guess is they'll wait to send emails until the 24th/25th (so they can have one more adcom meeting before decisions are sent out). But that's just a guess...

Does this anticipated decision include people who interviewed earlier this month? I sure hope so. I'm dying here, and honestly feel like Mizzou is my last and only hope.

Well, I guess today's probably the day! Good luck everyone :luck:

at least you have acceptances under your belt! Man I'm soo nervous, I feel like a mizzou rejection would crush me. 😱

One of my friends interviewed on Tuesday and said that the first chance she would hear back would be today or Monday. I'm hoping for you guys that its today!!

:luck::luck::luck::luck: to everyone!

My status is unchanged. *sigh*

See you all next month... 😉

Did you just get the email??? I haven't gotten mine yet....so hard to be patient....:scared:

make that four

Seriously blah.... so just out of curiousity, are you three also instaters? Do we know how many they let in each month? Is the class almost full between early admittance program people, early decision, and the three rounds of regular admission? It seems like it might be getting close...

Yeah, I'm instate, born and raised. Mizzou is my undergrad school as well (I have traveled a lot however). From what I know, not too many people are let in EDP, maybe 3 per year. But then you have to account for those early admittance kids, Conley scholars & Bryant’s Scholars, and to me it seemed like there are a LOT of those kids in my classes, 15-20 each year at least. So then you are looking at an acceptance class of about 70-75 (which is way too small in my opinion). I'm guessing they take about 5-10 each month, maybe less. So by now I'm guessing there are probably 40 acceptance spots left and obviously 96 waitlist spots. Everything is going to be decided this next month. Apparently the waitlist moves a lot, generally into the 30-50's each year. If you are out of state....don't expect too much, in a tight year with a lot of qualified in-state kids you are going to have to be spectacular to get in. Obviously everything I just said is my opinion and really have no clue  , just a guess.

5th with no status change.

Also, as I understood it they already dealt with your in/out of state situation before interviews were given out. Those that got one were considered linked to in-state enough and are now on equal playing field...

Nope, I'm a native Kansan and current Texas resident. Though I have a degree from a Missouri state school.

Thank you to everyone for their congratulations. I'm wishing you all the best of luck and hope to see you next year!

Did you get in anywhere else, and do you have any other interviews?

Yeah, right now I have Mizzou and George Washington. I'm interviewing at Univ of Rochester in a couple weeks and already interviewed down at Univ of Texas at Galveston as well. But b/w the 2 I already have, I *think* I'm leaning more towards Mizzou (maybe because I loved it here for almost 4 years already... why not another 4?).

By the way... if we both end up at Mizzou... you totally have to get me back up to speed on Spanish. I volunteer at a clinic that serves Spanish-speaking patients... I can understand everything pretty well but it would definitely take me a good minute to form a sentence haha.

Looks like we won't be getting a status update until mid-march around the 20th or so, at least that's what the admissions office told me. They also said they were going to be interviewing up to march 14th basically. Another month to wait 👎thumbdown👎thumbdown

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Did you talk to them today?

I had my interview this week and thought it went well. According to this thread, it seems when they say "an update every 3rd week except feb," they mean no update in february at all 🙁

They didn't really mention anything about when we'd get our result, hopefully i don't have to wait a full month. I'll wait til monday to email for a status update.

Feel free to email and ask, but we're here to tell you- they really only do give updates once a month.

Except in February, apparently. 🙁

I really didn't want to have to wait another month...... *sigh*

i interviewed early january and i'm still on the waitlist. I think mizzou cares more about ECs than your stats, which can be good for some. They love primary care.

anyway they accept 96 and put 96 on the wait list. There is ALOT of wait list movement however. Last year they took a whopping 60 kids off the wait list!! I think they meet every 3rd week of the month and put all the wait listed people back into the running along with the new interviewees.

I've heard from friends that they stop interviewing after February?? idk i just want to find out my spot on the waitlist.

I thought adcom would meet MORE often at the end of the interview cycle, not less. If they don't tell me soon, I may have to throw away another grand on a deposit at another school. 🙁

the joy of the search function:

Last year's Mizzou thread

I started it on page 3 since that's around this time in '07. Looks like last few days of Feb was the real crunch time.

It seems they are interviewing a month later this year than last year, no? When I asked via e-mail I got no response, but I called and was told they interview until March(nothing more specific).

Dear Applicant,

This e-mail is being sent to all applicants who have not yet been accepted to the School of Medicine.

Historically, the Admissions Committee has completed its work in late February and the final selection of candidates was made during the last week of February. This year, we have had an increase in the number of applications as well as an increase in the number of interviews offered.

As a result, the Admissions Committee will NOT be accepting another group of students in February.
Instead, the Admissions Committee will complete the interview season in mid-March and will then make the final selections.

You can expect to receive an e-mail informing you of your final status by March 21, 2008. At that time, you will find out that you have been: 1) accepted, 2) placed on the alternate list, or 3) denied. If you are placed on the alternate list, you will be told where you stand on the rank-ordered list.

Please feel free to telephone our Admissions Office (573-882-9219) if you have any questions regarding the admissions process.

Sincerely,

Marivern Easton

I'm living proof of that statement. Not only are ECs a huge factor, you have to have the right ones as well (i.e. I've got a fairly strong suspicion to believe that my substantial research background didn't really do a whole heck of lot). Anyway, best wishes to all of those still in the running.

Did anyone else waiting get this email already? I am still waiting and this is the first I have seen this.

I got the same message as well, same time as the people above. 3 more weeks until our fate is decided. Good luck everyone!:luck::luck::luck:

I contacted Mizzou. I was supposed to get that email. They resent it.
