Modbury Hospital, SA Anyone?

Anyone who is in Adelaide that can comment on this hospital?

Been offered an intern position there.

Haven't been to Adelaide yet so would appreciate it if anyone could let me know a little more about the hospital from the point of view of work atmosphere, area of town, desireability as a work place etc? PM me if you don't want to post a response in the thread.

Haven't been there in awhile but recall in the late 90s lots of financial problems. Modbury is in the northeast suburbs of Adelaide; probably about 10-15 km out of downtown.

Its the province of the Adelaide Uni students so we didn't rotate there much, so this post isn't really a bit of help to you is it?

I've only worked in their ED department but in general... Modbury is an "outer metropolitan hospital" which means you don't have the high profile faculty of say the Royal Adelaide or Flidners but many people are quite happy there. Tends to be a concentration of overseas trained doctors compared to some other places but that can be a good thing or a bad thign depending.
The areas not bad but not great, I'd probably live down by the beach or in the city by preference, it's about a 15-20 minute drive from teh city. The hospital is right across the road from a Westfield Mall which means you can do stuff like get your shopping done in your lunch break etc which is a plus.

Hah...every morning at approximately 10:30 am in surgery clinic, one of the nurses would come in and tell the attending and I that "Mrs. Brown" was here to see us.

That was our cue that there was tea and cakes for us.😀
