How do you get moldy old attendings (especially CP) to retire?

Are some CP attendings just a waste of space?

Can a you train a 3rd grader to sign out protein electro.. gels?

You have someone particular in mind?

I think every program has attendings who shouldn't be there - usually it is those who fail to understand the concept of a teaching hospital and think residents are there to do their work for them and it's their responsibility to figure stuff out on their own. This is why I enjoy filling out evaluations.

I'm on immuno, too, and yes, I'm fairly certain I could have competently signed these gels out at age 9 or so.

1) Most CP attendings never retire. Since all you have to do is (barely) mentate, they tend to hang on forever.

2) yes.

3)) yes.
