Applying next cycle.

So I'm getting a letter from my PI, 2 science, 1 nonscience, and 1 from a DO doctor (NYCOM said it's recommended). That's already 5 but I want one from the place I volunteer it or use one from my coach. Should I add more? Do they look at more than 5?

also do we need to have a committee letter? because my school has a GPA minimum and I do not meet it right now 🙁

From having to read all these things, I can tell you that at some point, you're just gilding the lily.

The application cycle is like a battle. You have to plan your attack accordingly. You can't send all of your soldiers in at one time.

I had a total of 8-9 LORs. Of course AACOMAS only allows 6.
In the end, I ended up submitting all of my LORs.

How?

Send in the strong LORs on AACOMAS. When you get an II, you add somewhere during your interview that you have more LORs that you would like to add to your file. BOOM. Mission complete. From personally experience, they love that you had more to offer and shown you have gone beyond what is expected. This is a plus.

When they review your file, you have more "offense" than your so-called "enemies".

Good luck. May the battle be in your favor.

More isn't always better and some schools will limit the amount of letters they read. I picked 5 letters when I already had 10 on file, some where old. I probably could have submitted 8 of my letters, but pick what I believed my best 5 were.

I'd suggest looking at the limits and figuring out what that right balance is for the schools you are applying too. Rule of thumb is 5.
