Thanks! WashU sent me an email stating that I was accepted. The email included a portal to my official acceptance letter, which included a scholarship offer.
Hey, saw you received $$ from WashU. Are you planning on attending their scholars weekend?

JUST GOT INTO UCLA HPM!!! AHHH!!I know some folks who applied Epi to UCLA heard back but does anyone know when we should be hearing back from UCLA or USC? Thanks!
Sent from my LGMP260 using SDN mobile
I think the interview might be the next step in the application process for HMP but it doesn't seem like there's much transparency on this. I had an interview and they said in the email that after "careful review" I was "selected" to interview (not sure if I interpreted this correctly though). Interviewer said I should expect to hear back in about 3 weeks. Potential interview dates are scheduled out for several weeks from what I saw. Hope this helps!Just stumbled across this forum and I have a few comments and questions:
1. Is anyone else having some issues with Wolverine Access for UMich? I applied to the MPH Nutritional Science (11/26) and HMP (1/14 - spur of the moment/last minute decision on my part, I know not great) programs, and reached out to the university because my Wolverine Access account was not listing my Nutrition application as complete or incomplete even though it's been submitted for a few months (as were my SOPHAS info, transcripts, test scores, etc.). My HMP application was submitted a day before the hard deadline and was already marked as complete, so I was concerned. I talked to Kristen McCarthy from UMich and she assured me that despite the portal not saying the Nutrition app was completed, BOTH were complete on her end and under review. I received an acceptance email today for the UMich MPH Nutritional Science program (!!!), so I'm no longer concerned about that. I'm not yet able to see a "View Application Status" link on Wolverine Access, but I imagine it could take a few days for the portal to update with the acceptance. I think it's kind of odd though that since the time I set up my Wolverine Access account I've been given access to a "View Application Recommendation" link for my Nutrition app which just shows information regarding the program; it's not there for my HMP app though. McCarthy told me it was odd that I was having issues with the links I am able to see, but didn't offer any advice regarding it. I thought I'd reach out and see if other applicants were having issues with Wolverine Access in general though to reassure myself!!
2. I've been seeing a few people discussing interviews for the UMich HMP program. I didn't have to interview for the Nutritional Science MPH program with UMich, so I'm curious about this. Does anyone know if everyone who applied to the HMP program has to have an interview? Are there people who get into this program without an interview? I didn't see anything about an interview on the UMich MPH HMP website so that's why I'm a little anxious. Also, for those of you who did interview, about how long did it take after you applied to hear back about an interview? I applied so close to the hard deadline so I'm not getting my hopes up, I'm just curious about the timeline aspect. Additionally, any information regarding the interviewing process would be great!
Thanks!!!

Congrats! How does UCLA notify you?
Thank you! They emailed me Friday evening. I was extremely surprised when I saw it since it was late and I figured no responses would be coming after 5. It also caught me off guard because on last year's thread a lot people heard in the last week of January up to the third week of February.Congrats! How does UCLA notify you?
Update for everyone else.Hahaha I wouldn't be surprised if we have had classes together! I'm gonna attempt to PM you but I'm still learning how to use this site haha
HONESTLY it's such a small world!Update for everyone else.
WE'RE FRIENDS!! We knew each other from an intro to public health class and we had a project together. What a small world!
Yup! You sign up for a 1 hour slot and they call you either on the hour or the half hour, so you’re expected to just wait until they call! Interview takes about 30 mins! For those of you who have already had interviews with HMP faculty at UMich, were you contacted by your faculty interviewer after signing up for a time slot?
I have mine this coming week! Any tips on how to prepare other than the usual why mph, why umich? Thanks!!Yup! You sign up for a 1 hour slot and they call you either on the hour or the half hour, so you’re expected to just wait until they call! Interview takes about 30 mins!
I have heard for Epi MPH on 1/14
With taking into consideration that they will release their scholarships information on the last week of Jan, I think you should make contact with your department.
Thank you!I also heard back on the 14th of this month. I would wait until maybe the middle of the week to reach out to the department. I know in the virtual fair they said that most departments have begun meeting this week and last week, so maybe they're working their way to your application.
I'm guessing the interviews will very much depend faculty to faculty member. Mine was VERY relaxed. I was asked two questions then was given the time to ask my faculty member any questions I had. If I was to ballpark, we spent 7-10 mins on me and 15-20 mins on his experiences, learning more about the program and my questions. My two questions were the typical "tell me about yourself", then "tell me where you see this degree taking you". I'd definitely think through a solid amount of questions that can lead into conversation, and of course prep for the usual questions.I have mine this coming week! Any tips on how to prepare other than the usual why mph, why umich? Thanks!!

Medical School GPA: N/A, but honors with a couple of high pass in clerkships

Experience/Research (please, be brief):
- 3 years at education non-profit
- 5 publications, 1 first author, in psychiatry and neuroscience
- summer internship in public health dept
LOR: manager at education non profit, three professors from medical school, research advisor
Interests: MPH in Health Policy and Management
Applying: Harvard 45, Yale Advanced Degree, Johns Hopkins, Columbia
Accepted: TBD
Has anyone heard of anyone deferring a year for an MSPH at Johns Hopkins. I’m a Federal employee and this shutdown has thrown some of my work projects off their expected timeline. It might be much better for me to wait a year to go to school. Does anyone know if they allow deferrals?
Is there a typical timeline for when schools send financial aid packages? Starting to get a little bit nervous about the price tag for UCLA since I'm out of state. 😳 Thanks in advance!!
It depends on the school, but we should start hearing about financial aid starting in the beginning of February to the end of March!
Is anyone thinking about attending Emory's admitted students day? I know that they should be releasing info about the event in the coming weeks, but I was just wondering if anyone had any details about it in general, such as info from past years?
I am also planning on attending Visit Emory, I will be coming from southern California
I would be open to coordinating plans with everyone on here planning on attending to grab drinks/dinner for a more informal meet and greet!
Haven't officially booked any flights for Visit Emory but debating about arriving mid-day Wednesday and leaving early Sat or arriving Wednesday night and staying until mid-day Sat! If anyone else is possible staying a little longer maybe we can grab dinner or lunch or something!
Yes, just registered this morning! Will I be meeting you there?
