I'm brand new to the boards here. Long story short, I have my bachelors in business administration (2000) and my masters in information technology (2004). I've been working in the technology field for 5 years now and it's simply not my passion. The reason why I did a masters in I.T. is due parental pressures (fyi..I'm of south asian decent and, traditionally speaking, south asians parents push their kids into an advance degree whether their kid knows what she wants to do with her life at that time or not...it's to make us more "marketable" in terms of marriage prospects...it's all very superfical really). At the time, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life and so I figured I would go the technology route (decent pay for someone who isn't a medical doctor) until I figure out what I really wanted to do.

I would like to do a MPH, but I am now 30, have a mortgage, and I'm really not sure if it's possible to start all over from scratch. I do not have healthcare work experience of any type...that is, unless you consider volunteer days back in high school from 13 years ago.

I see that Thomas Jefferson Univeristy has a 1 year MPH program and I'm seriouly considering applying for it. I believe it's fairly new and it is accredited. Is anyone on here in the program? TJU states I do not have to re-take the GREs because I already have a masters degree.

I'm also thinking about applying to JHU's MPH/DrPH EAU program. I currently work for NATO and assist with emergency preparedness scenarios. I know JHU is ranked #1 in terms of the MPH program, but I'm hoping my work experience at NATO will help me out when competing against all the MDs in the crowd. 😳

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
