Am I the only one who's regretting not applying to different schools? I really like all of the schools I applied to, but I feel like I'm starting to second guess myself with the decision getting closer. Hopefully once I hear back from Colorado (PLEASE!!) and Harvard I'll be more confident but on the plus side I know a lot of schools to look for when applying for PhD programs!

YES. I haven't gotten in anywhere yet so definitely wishing I had cast my net a little wider...I applied to 4 schools. I'm also waiting on Colorado...they told me I'd hear in 2-3 weeks on Jan 23rd so I don't feel too great about that...

I do, but I only applied to one school (two programs). I do wish I applied to LSE and London School of Tropical Medicine. I still could, but there are so many variables with moving to the UK that seems overwhelming to figure out. Tuition is half that of JHU, BUT London is incredibly expensive especially if you are not making GBP. I would not be able to work there and I'm not sure what their connections are like for recruiting. JHU is just a lot easier from a logistics standpoint since I live in DC now.

I also live in DC right now and am STRONGLY considering JHU, but also after I was accepted I did get a wave of "what if" with LSTM

I applied for the Maternal and Child Health concentration so I think that's why it's taking longer to get an answer. Which program did you apply to?

Epi. I applied to the CSU and Anschutz campuses

Does anyone know anything about changing concentrations at GW?

Does anyone know when Harvard's Admitted Students Days are?

Also, just want to complain for a minute- getting all of these admitted student days scheduled and getting time off of work is TOUGH! I'm in a position where I can't tell work I applied/was accepted, so it's especially hard taking random days off with no explanation. Also hard when schools have the same admitted student days.

I am in the exact same boat!!! it IS tough and makes things more stressful (at least for me). Which program at Harvard did you apply to? I am still waiting to hear back!

i'm in literally the exact same situation. I look so shady asking for time off especially cuz my coworkers are also my "friends" so when they ask what I'm doing i have to make something up!! Thank god NYU's admitted students day is on a sunday

Admitted to NYU MPH in HPM with $40k! This is definitely making my decision very difficult... I’ve always wanted to live in NYC and the scholarship will definitely make it doable, but I haven’t heard much about the program. Until I hear back from Columbia I’m mainly deciding between JHU MSPH and NYU. The tuition difference is $20k+. Any opinions?

I also haven't heard back yet from Yale's SBS MPH program. I applied on the 10th of January, and only got my application complete email 2/15.
I haven't heard back yet either, but I did receive a financial aid reminder email this morning. I'm assuming, however, that this is just because I applied and everyone received the same one--such a tease!

I was accepted to Yale's SBS MPH program but I applied in mid-December, and got a response mid-January.

Advice time!
I am deciding between Oregon State, SDSU & Arizona. Does anyone have any information on these schools that I wouldn't get right off their websites? I am leaning towards SDSU or Arizona but haven't closed the door on OSU yet...
I go to Arizona currently in their undergrad program so I can try to answer any questions you have or just about how Tucson is. Just PM me!

Just registered for Visit Emory 2018 after hearing back from travel grant, but disappointed by the amount. :-( it doesn't even cover half of my flight cost from Seattle... Still thankful but unsure if I will be able to make it due to work obligations.

Late this party - how do I apply for a travel grant/is it too late?

Have you received a decision from SDSU? I’m still waiting for a response and the wait is killing me haha

Same here. I hope they release decisions this week. I'd like to start making travel plans.

I think NYU seems like a great program, but I'm leaning towards Hopkins because NYC rent is so high ($1000 higher rent per month in NYC essentially negates the tuition difference) and since I'm not a big fan of night classes (which NYU exclusively offers). I'd take some time to research each program thoroughly, think about your priorities, and talk with current students. Best of luck to you!

I applied to SDSU and haven't heard back yet, but I'm really interested! I got accepted to OSU and I'm visiting in 3 weeks. OSU's strength is in their health sciences programs, but their public health programs are very good too. The area from what I've heard is absolutely gorgeous. the downside is that it's about 90 miles from a major airport. I can give more insight to the programs specifically after I visit it!

Seriously? 4 of the 6 schools I applied to have their admitted Atudents Day on March 23rd. I guess makes it easier to not request every Friday in March off.

Yeah, even if I get in I've already booked Airbnb and flights for Emory sooooo

When did you find out about your NYU MPH acceptance? I've been waiting forever!

at this point i would literally pay Harvard for an expedited admissions decision
A lot of us are in the same boat.....We're in this together! LOL, just imagine, in the next few weeks we will all have our admission decisions! We got this! (This is what I keep telling myself as I anxiously wait for Columbia and Harvard's decisions)

Around what time should I expect that I won’t be getting any financial aid from schools? I haven’t heard anything from anyone and am wondering if I should just expect that I won’t get anything. My top choices are Umich and UCLA.
I think late March. Some schools do a secondary round of scholarships in March (like Michigan) or release scholarship decisions in March (like Emory) so it could still happen. You could probably also assume you won't be getting more aid if you get an official financial aid package that doesn't include scholarships, since it's unlikely they'll add anything after they've already created a profile for you. It's so hard not knowing though!

Has anyone received an admissions decision from the Health & Social Behavior MPH at Berkeley? I emailed them and they said they were in the process of notifying applicants, and that they would be sending out decisions until mid-March.

I actually go to OSU now for my undergrad and have lived in Corvallis my whole life. Let me know if you have any questions!

Same here! And I agree I think we are set. Who is going to admitted students day?????
Berkeley is my undergrad alma mater so I know it's an incredible but v. tough school and I'm torn between Berkeley, UW, and Mich gaaahh

I am definitely going to admitted students day!!! Are you?

Congrats on your acceptances! Did you apply to Emory HPM? Which school(s) are you leaning towards?

How long have people waited after they received an "Application Complete" email from Yale? I received that email Jan 29th but still, no updates on the decision. This is the last decision letter I'm waiting for so I'm kind of anxious about it.

I heard back exactly six weeks after I received the application complete email. But, I’ve heard other applicants have a much faster turnaround

I got my acceptance a week later!

Is anyone still waiting for Yale's SBS MPH program?
I submitted 1/11 and haven't heard back yet - getting really antsy waiting.
I'm still waiting as well, it's exhausting. I submitted 1/12

I'm honestly considering quitting my job in Kenya to move home and attend accepted students days next months. Trying to decide from here is seriously so stressful and I feel like I'm going to make the wrong decision. AH I feel really distracted because I'm so excited/anxious to start school!!!
No way! I live/work abroad and I've just accepted that I won't be going to any of them. 1. I don't have anymore paid time off work, 2. Even thoughit would be helpful, I couldn't justify the $900+ round trip ticket. Oh and I need my job so I can't just quit, haha.
As an alternative, I've skyped with a few current students from the schools I'm interested in and I won't be afraid to reach out and ask for more information if my decision doesn't become more clear.

Hi everyone! I'd like some advice--I got accepted to both Pitt and Ohio State. Ohio State offered a 26k stipend and full tuition. I'm torn because I currently work at Pitt, but I went to Ohio State for undergrad and my family and friends are still in Ohio--does anyone have experience with either of the two schools? Is anyone aware of the job prospects for after grad school, specifically at Ohio State?

Thanks! I'm leaning towards Emory (global health) - I visited the campus last year and really fell in love with the school, but my decision will largely come down to what the financial aid package looks like. Unsubsidized loans are no joke! I might defer for a year to save up more money...

What about you?
