Hello,

I will be joining UT Houston this Fall for MPH (epidemiology). I wish to complete it in 3 semesters. Can anyone here please tell me how practical is this?
I talked to a few students pursuing MPH there and they said it can be done theoretically but they haven't seen anyone doing this. I am not much interested in doing any part time job. I just want to know how difficult epidemiology is, to complete in 3 semesters i.e 5 courses per semester to get 45 credits .

There were a few threads about the same topic at BU but they were about 4 years old and did not say anything about epidemiology.
Can someone in epidemiology at UT throw some light? Any input will be appreciated 🙂

Thanks

I am not at UT but I know that 3 semester MPHs are possible, the difficulty is getting your practicum in and writing your thesis all while taking the heavier course load. That is why my MPH has gone from a one-year to a one and a half year.

I just completed my MPH in Epidemiology at UTH. I completed it in 2 years (no summers), but I had several classmates that did it in less time. They took courses during the summer and I believe one of them had an Epi focus. Plenty of online courses to take to cram in those extra hours. I took no less than 11 hours a semester while working full-time, so if you don't have a job taking up your free time, then you can probably do more hours. You may have to see what the caps, if any, are on number of hours per semester.

Does UT-H offer plenty of online courses? I was looking for a link describing which courses could be online vs in person... Thanks!
