As I'm waiting to hear from any new interview invites post-MSPE release, I'm wondering - how important could the MSPE be? The programs already have all of our grades, recommendation letters, our whole CV, etc....what new info are they really gaining in the MSPE? What are some programs waiting to learn before interviewing us?

Any insights? thanks!

I think they use them to see class rank , red flags, and commentary. So, probably ways to add additional screens to the interview process.

The MSPE is vital. It includes excerpts from your evaluations from ALL your clinical rotations-- so even if you've had great letters, etc., the mspe covers the whole gamut, and like OP stated, may have red flags or just let a program know that you're stellar in every way. If all of your excerpts say general things without anything special, that's a red flag too.
