Is this the e-mail you got? (I only ask because it doesn't sound so much an invitation as a notification.)
Dear pennquaker08:
We have been notified by the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) that you have designated the M.D.-Ph.D. at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as one of your school choices.
The MSTP screening committee will be conducting the preliminary review of all our applicants through the month of December. Any additional information such as letters of recommendation, transcripts, publications, etc. must be sent to the MSTP office now at the address below.
Please be assured that all precautions have been taken to give your credentials a fair and complete evaluation.
You may check the status of your application via the 2008 Application Status web site. This site is updated weekly. The link for the status web site is located at the following location:
http://www.medstudent.ucla.edu/prospective. You will need your AMCAS identification number, birth date, and the last four digits of your Social Security number in order to access the status page.
The MSTP Supplemental Form is online now. To access the form, click on the link to get to the 2008 Application Status Database.
Your AMCAS application must be verified before you will be able to access the link for the MSTP Supplemental Form. Admission to the MSTP and medical school are considered concurrently.
If you have applied to the M.D.-Ph.D. program in error, please go to the Application Status Database and opt out of the joint program as soon as possible. We can not proceed with your medical school application until you change your status to the Regular M.D. program.
