Hello everyone! I am a M3 medical student currently doing research in multimodal chronic pain management.
I am wondering how Anesthesia Residencies are teaching non-pharmacologic treatment options for chronic pain, such as acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga, etc?
Some things I'm curious about are:
- the number of hours your program has spent on this subset of care
- what type of training it was (lecture, small group, etc)
- how in depth your program went into the topic (ie. making you aware that these strategies exist -vs- also teaching you when and how to implement the techniques into a patient's care)
Any other information would be helpful too, such as the year of training you are! If your residency program never taught you about these treatment options, that would also be helpful to know.
Thank you all so much!
