I'm not sure if I can describe this without anyone getting confused, so I'll try and make it simple :laugh:

I went to 3 different schools. I sent transcripts from those 3 schools in. The problem is, under school designations, there are weird time periods, breaks, and returning to a different school.

For instance, School #1 --> School #2 ---> School #1 ---> School #3 ---> School 1

I listed each of those school periods separately under school designation. I dont need to have 3 copies of School #1 sent in do I? SOPHAS will see that its the same school even though I may have gone to one particular school about 4 times on 4 separate time periods?😕

I doubt you'll have to send in 3 copies of School #1 since all three of your tenures at that university should be recorded on your transcript. However, your best bet will be to call SOPHAS and ask them directly. When I had to deal with SOPHAS, it was a fast, easy, and painless process.

Your transcripts should have every class that you took. I'm not sure what you are exactly asking, but are you asking whether or not you need to send 3 copies of the transcript from school #1?

I took summer courses at 2 community college when I was home from my 4 year university. So, I have 3 transcripts that I need to send too.

You only need to send one copy. I took classes through 13 schools, some multiple times during different periods. I just put the first date I started classes at that school and the last date. Once you enter courses it will be broken up, but you don't want to list the same school multiple times under institutions attended.

He got me. Thats the problem. I didnt just put in a start date and end date. I listed the same school multiple times under institutions attended. I broke each time period I was at school #1 so there are like 4 "start" and "end" dates. I hope this doesnt mess anything up😱

SOPHAS will generally tell you if you need to fix something like that. You'll get an email if there is a problem.

Do you know how long they will take until they say something about it? I e-submitted on Dec 20th. I know with the holidays and New Years, they are probably on break. The problem is, a lot of the deadlines for schools are fast approaching (Jan 15th or so) and transcripts take about 7-10 business days to arrive after requesting it, which means it'll be past the deadline 😱

I would give SOPHAS a call or email if you're worried about time. They should be able to help you if something isn't filled/sent out correctly.

Looks like I was wrong and you did it correctly.

  • Q: If I attended a school for multiple degrees, or if there were gaps in my attendance at a school, should I list it more than once?

    A: Yes. You should create a separate school listing for each degree if you attended a school for multiple degrees or if there were gaps in your attendance. If you received your degree at a school and continued taking additional classes after your degree was granted, there is no need to enter the school more than once.
  • Q: If I have attended multiple institutions, do I need to send a transcript from each school?

    A: Yes. You are required to send ONE transcript from each institution you have attended regardless of the number of courses you have taken or whether you have received a degree at the institution. This includes classes taken with dual enrollment while in high school. If you received credit from a college or university rather than from Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate, then you will need to send the transcript from the college or university through which the course was taken. For any credit received by exam before enrolling at a post-secondary institution, such as CLEP, Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate, enter it as it appears on your official college or university transcript. You do not need to provide any other documentation (e.g. high school transcripts) for test credits.

Thanks!😀 I thought I read that somewhere before I did it how I did it. I still ended up calling SOPHAS and talking to them (the guy seemed kind of irritated), he said I should be ok and they didnt need more than one transcript from any one school 🙂
