Hey guys,
I'm a newcomer, and I have question for you all. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had an interview at MUSC. My interview is on Nov. 21, and I'm gettin' kind of anxious.

Hey there..... I am curious, what do you know about out-of-state possibilities at MUSC? I have applied but havent heard anything back for interviews.

Thanks!

Hey zimaad,

As far as I know, they accept 55 in-state students and 5 out-of-state applicants (roughly). About 500 people apply (~100 in-state+~400 out-of-state) each year. You will be competing with about 400 others for 5 spots. If you have any more questions, let me know =).

Hey! I have an interview there on Nov. 21 as well! I was originally scheduled for Oct 3, but changed it. I am out of state. D.M.D dude, are you in state? Is musc your #1 choice?

Do you know how many out of state people they interview??

Hmmm....gotta love those odds!!! I have my fingers crossed. My family has a beach house on Isle of Palms, so I have a sweet place to live!!!

Hey pixies_fan. I applied to MUSC, UNC, Harvard, Case, and NYU. To answer your question, MUSC is definitely my first choice, and I am an in-state resident (Thank God!!). Have you seen the area? If you haven't, it's really, really nice. Zimaad, last year's class had an avg. gpa of 3.58 and DAT scores of AA=18.5, P=17.5 (I think), and my guess would be that they usually accept out-of-state people who have numbers greater than these. What about you pixies_fan, is MUSC your first choice? Oh..and I'm not sure how many interview invites they give to out-of-state applicants...I just know that they interview everyone who's applying in-state.

I don't have a first choice....I am trying to keep my options. Also, I am pretty easy to please, so if I get multiple acceptances I will have a tough choice.
No, I have never been to the area, but my parents lived in South Carolina for a bit and loved it. They are now thinking about buying a place around the Charleston area. I have heard it is beautiful. What area of S. Carolina are you from D.M.D dude?

btw, when is your UNC interview? mine is Nov 22nd- maybe we'll have that one together, too?
