Hey everyone,

I am a Canadian applicant applying to the states... I plan to apply to penn, temple, nyu, boston and VCU for example... my cGPA is ~3.44 and my sGPA ~3.41...however I am writing the American DAT in Aug & plan to get 20+ in all sections... which schools do you think i have a reasonable shot at? I really don't have money to waste (supp fees...!) to apply to schools I dont even have a shot at

Any input please!

Thanks!!

ALSO I wrote the Canadian DAT (when I was not ready/prepared) and will have to submit those scores, they were...
RC 20
BIO 19
Chem 17
Sci Total 18
AA 19
PAT 17
Carving 5 (dont ask!!!)

maybe other canadians can help me out on this, but i dont think to be honest u have good chances at getting in with those stats. u have some, but i wouldnt say good. maybe safest bet is NYU. u can prob get an interview there even with ur current stats. and it's upto u from there i guess. I'd also say u can still apply to upenn, but don't count on getting in.

for 1. ur DAT is not american. u'd better get 20+ on ur aug one then.
for 2. ur from Canada, and from what i know, u ll be competing with not really w/ the americans but the canadians applying to states. and from what i hear, they usually have high GPAs coming in, around 3.7+

so in my opinion, u should study hard n get at least AA of 20 in Aug. and raise ur PAT.

good luck!

Thanks for your honesty... I know its really hard to get in here in Canada... and applicants often have 3.7+... I am really aiming to get 20+ in all sections... ahh i really wanna get in somewhereee 🙁

apply to lots of Out of state friendly schools. Go on predents.com when its back up and look at how many people they take out of state. I know you dont want to waste money but to increase your chances of getting accepted somewhere you need to apply to more schools. And some schools you listed are very very hard to get in.. like Upenn.
Choose schools like Temple, tufts, UMDNJ, NYU, MIdwestern, Western, etc..
good luck🙂

Thanks!
I am applying to far more schools 🙂
