I'm getting so frustrated here. No matter how much I study in between, my damn Kaplan practice test scores will not move any higher than 26. This is so freakin frustrating. Here's my history:

Diagnostic: 8-PS, 11-VR, 8-BS (27)

Full Length #1 : 9-PS, 10-VR, 7-BS (26)

Full Length #2 : 7-PS, 11-VR, 7-BS (25)

Full Length #3 : 8-PS, 11-VR, 7-BS (26)

This is driving me nuts. I don't know how much more time I can spare to study for this on top of my course load for the semester.

Is anyone else stuck at a certain range? It seems like the more studying I do, the worse it gets.

Take a break and try an AAMC exam to see where you really stand. As for studying and doing passages to prepare, hang in there. It's only a little while longer. Focus on knowing a bunch of little things and stretch them a long way on exams... "Keep it simple!"

Good luck.

i agree
just do the amcas... it is easier and the questions aren't as wild as kaplans. try kaplan 4.... it is very interesting.

When you say Kaplan #4 is interesting, do you mean a good or bad indicator of the real thing?

What AAMC test would you recommend taking to get a good indication of the real MCAT? I have worked AAMC #3, and didn't think it was too bad. Anybody know of any other AAMC tests that are good indicators?

Thanks.

i thought it was interesting, as they asked questions that didnt seem amcas -like. i heard that the best indicators, and practice material since it is fairly recent is the 4,5,6 test.

I agree with aamc 4,5,6 being similar to the real thing. They certainly felt more like the real test in retrospect. My scores were similar (33, 29, 30) with 29R on real, but I think a lot of people have found that these tests are pretty good indicators, granted the expected deviations.

hang in there; Mine were stagnant for 2-4; AAMC tests, imho, undershoot your score; I scored higher than all of my practice tests; Keep working hard!

hey sorry I cant help much but can u pls explain your strategy for the verbal?

Looks like your BS scores are suffering. You should consider really focusing in on that area. Don't look at the little histogram that Kaplan prints out; the number of questions per category is simply too small to draw any perceived "weakness" in an area - unless you consistently rank low in that area.

As for how - have you switched over to practicing for the MCAT instead of studying for it? I'm no expert - but I'm finding that I find gaps in my understanding not by re-reading entire chapters, but by taking on as many problems as I can.

Good luck (will be taking it with ya' in a few weeks).
